I think the major point is there the online community doesn't always appreciate things that can get negative media attention.

Ever see this?
http://jalopnik.com/5610086/online-b...een-bmw-driver
This was all over mainstream (TV) media in Canada when it happened.

M5 community was not super happy to be under media scrutiny.

There was a similar one in which the posting kid ended up killing himself and a bunch of friends also in an M5.

Here it is:
http://jalopnik.com/350252/bmw-m5-crash-details-emerge

We don't want to be one of 'those' forums.

Second, this forum is about this mythical FT/R-86/S. Waiting in breathless anticipation for news of delays and hybridization. No one's going to be very happy if it gets tagged with a 'street-racing' reputation and becomes a heat-score before it's even out.

That's what's behind the negativity.

Like I said, if we keep it to legitimate (ie: track) 'kills' the entire community that is attached to the thread and posts doesn't potentially get stuck with the Fast and Furious label.

You want us to mind our own shit yet you'll create a thread about it!?!

It's your approach, especially when it comes to forums. Your Supra looks/sounds like a nice build but posting up about your street racing "kills" sounds like complete arrogance. I'm sure you're a nice dude but this isn't the place to post stuff like that. My .02

I appreciate your .02 but again that was just one example (my short story) I wanted to hear peoples track days and related stuff to, and I if I make a thread for this stuff, it's not here to annoy people who don't like it, it's here for the people who want to read and tell their stories, that's the only reason I created it, but no one seems to see the part where this is a story thread not a street race thread

I'm sure you'll get a bunch of high fives and thumbs up on Supraforums but as you saw, it won't get much love here. Honestly, there isn't too much value in "braggin rights" especially when there is nothing on the table.

Don't get it twisted, straightline speed is fun but nothing beats running around a course. When you weigh the odds of the streets; narrow roads, oncoming traffic, cops vs going to the track, wider pavement, off camber turns, double apexes, no traffic and no cops then it sounds like a much sweeter deal!

Wow, now it's getting out of hand. Dimman & RRnold's comments were somewhat polite and showing example, but this is just offense. Yes, I do not agree w street racing, but like he stated, track race story too (not only street race).

This is how you teach/welcome new Supra owner? Just chill out, insulting and flaming him isn't gonna stop him from street racing. Let me see... Oh! Here's another way

Check this vid out. I saw this at Jalopnik

I honestly cried when i watched that video.

I guess i'm so mad at this guys because i lost my best friend due to some street racers.

He was just heading back home from school and some racers ran the lights.

I don't think any of you have experienced what i did and this is why you don't understand why i am so angry at this guy.

This is truly why our insurances are so god damn high because people like these are so immature and stupid.

Sorry, I don't know how you feel. Closest thing is my friend's sister was killed in school zone. Driver was drugged up/high and didn't see school zone light flashing or red light and killed the girl.

I'm not saying don't flame him, hell if he was racing 24/7 anywhere, then I wouldn't stop you from flaming him. Some ppl make mistakes, all I'm asking is give ppl some chance to make it up. You both has Supra, I'm pretty sure both of you have something positive to talk bout.

ps
Yes, that vid did make me cry too.

Yesterday, I was headed back to Florida after a nice cruise up to South Georgia, and I ended up coming across this beautiful red C6ZO6 with all kinds of carbon fiber on it (front and rear lip). Naturally, we were on a pretty much deserted highway with no one else around but us. Let's just say, I was on 1 bar of boost and he didn't stand a chance .

I had my camera in the car, and decided to stick it out the window and snap a picture or two. Here you go:

And to the other posters.... just because you don't approve of street racing doesn't mean you have to be an asshole about it. I don't approve of drunk drivers, but I still drink alcohol . If you're alone on the highway, in my opinion, there is nothing wrong with a little spirited drive. What's the point of having a sports car if all you do is drive the speed limit everywhere?

Again...

And...

And just so people don't get the wrong idea about Supra guys, here is a link to SupraMania's 'Kill' threads.

http://www.supramania.com/forums/for...ills-and-Races

Only 2 threads. Go figure...

I digress though.... you do realize there are over 2,700 threads on SF's "Kill Stories" subsection? Posting a link to an abstract forum and saying it represents the community as a whole is purely illogical.

I wouldn't call it illogical. Either a significant portion of the Mk3 Supra community doesn't care about 'Kills' or, more likely, prefers things quiet.

As for SF, I'm sure you're aware that the 'Kills' section is only visible to logged-in members? As in they don't want any uninvited outside scrutiny.

Take a hint from that.
