I've been running them in 225/45/17 on stock wheels. Better wet and dry grip than stock. Sidewall is a bit stiffer and they definitely wear faster. Overall happy with them and would say they're on par with Conti DW but slightly less wet grip.

I'm very much liking the Kumho Ecsta LE Sports I have on now...an extremely good wet/dry max performance tire for very little money. Great if you are looking for tire performance unparalleled in the wet but in between the stock and Extreme Performance track orientated tires in the dry. Make sure you have them on the widest wheel fitment for the tire size...

I'm running Hankook ventus S1 noble2. Great all season tires. Rated #1 ultra high performance all season tires on Tirerack and they're quite cheap too.

I have no issues with my Cont Extreme Contacts rain or light snow/ice although the sidewalls are a bit soft with hard cornering on hot days.

Ive had/have a few sets of these. Local sams had in various sizes for $360 installed a set when rebate is going.

Even have a set on gfs tdi.

For the price, theyre fantastic.

I love my pss though.

Also have some goodyear asym f2 that are fairly comparable to pss but cheaper. Very nice dd tire

I am planning on going with these ones when my OEMs are done:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....=Direzza+DZ102

Dunlop DZ102 with a UTQG rating of 460 AA. I don't plan to track my car any time soon. It is strictly for spirited driving and where I live is mostly flat and straight roads anyways. I do not NEED Max or Extreme Performance Summer Tires. I got them for my brother in law's Honda Fit and from my own driving experience they handled well in the dry and wet.

For anyone that can understand Japanese, here's a video:

I love my RE-11's! A little noisy but overall great tire.

Continental Extreme Contact DW in 235-45-17 on stock wheels. The traction is incredible in the wet or dry.

Michelin Super Sports!

I really like my Michelin SSs on the stock wheels and for autocross I just got Yokohama AD08Rs on Enkei RPF1s.

My Setup:

Daily (Stock Wheels) - Continental Extreme Contact DWs.

Autocross / Track (OZ Superleggeras) - Bridgestone RE11As

Overall, I highly recommend the DWs for any daily and mild / non-competitive autocross type situation. They are the best tire in the wet for that particular category and the dry performance is basically only one step down from the Michelin PSS. They also are quieter and cheaper than the PSS.

The RE11As are okay for daily but maybe not recommended due to the short lifespan of the tire. Obviously, their ultimate grip is far superior to the Michelin PSS and the Conti DWs. If you only drove 5-8K miles per year they would be fine if you lived in a warmer climate. I would just choose the DWs over them for daily driving.

Thanks,
