I've only had a positive encounter with another Brz owner... We just drove spirited for a bit on the morning commute. We raced a bit in a two lane then I just followed him the rest of the way. He waved to me when he turned.
I got mean mugged by some guys in older Wrxs at Walmart once (big surprise) Had a guy in a new sti ask me about my car Had a guy in a gti tell me he hated his car and wanted my opinion on my brz I've also had tons of people try to race me, and more people than ever cut me off now that I have this car. |

I barely see any on the roads around here, but every time I park my car there's someone else owner of one or not there to ask me questions about the car.

I agree with you. It is very embarassing when you see a fellow twin driver drive around like an asshole. It's almost like you don't want to be associated with them, and as you put it, "embarassed". There are stereotypes for all sorts of cars... Be it that Prius owners are annoying, Mustang/Genesis are narrow-minded 1/4 mile enthusiasts, etc. We would generally like to think that twins drivers are a little more classy and sophisticated, even though this may not be true. I suppose the purpose of this thread is to shed some light on that dark area that we as a forum don't really cover. It's great to see some honest stories here regarding other drivers. Look forward to hearing more! |

Everytime I see another twin I test their braking distance and 0-60 acceleration.
I have a very scientific method of performing these tests. Step 1: Find a twin driver on the road. Step 2: Speed up and get in front of the driver. Step 3: Slam on the brakes. Step 4: Accelerate. If he/she doesn't slam into me, he/she has some pretty good stopping power. If he/she catches me to vent their frustration and disapproval, then they are pretty quick too.

I do not own a twin but I am a huge fan and I convinced my son to buy a FR-S. Every FR-S/BRZ owner that I have met has been great. They are enthusiastic about their cars and excited to be a part of the car "scene" whether that be meets, C&Cs or driving events.
Based on some of the post on this forum, I have just been lucky so far!

We're not though. It's a $25K car, brand new. $30K if you get all the bells and whistles. Used ones are starting to show up around $20K or a little less. Every car will always have its share of douchebags, but ours just isn't priced high enough to avoid the slackjawed masses.

I say with some pride that most of the ones I've come across are well-behaved on the street. Good driving guys.

No, not at all. And having been a part of the Porsche community for a while, I can say that you will find jackasses at every level.
However, you don't tend to find genuine idiots at the higher income levels. Society has a way of filtering those down to the bottom of the stack. These are the ones with the windshield washer lights and the black plastic Pep Boys hood scoop pop riveted onto the hood of their beaten down '93 Civic. In a few years our cars will be worth 12-15K, which is their playground. All kinds of people can afford these cars, so what I'm saying is that you can't assume that drivers of 86's are classy and sophisticated just because you want them to be. |

Lol, so much truth in this thread
The fact of the matter is that in the next 3 years this car will be the next RSX or Gen Coupe that bro douches will pick up for sure With that being said, there's this red FR-S in the GTA that weaves in and out on the 401. Aftermarket exhaust, barely legal tints, smoked tails |
