Sure, I owned a tC1 (2010) that I traded in on my FR-S.

Snowblind is correct. The only thing the tC is better at is getting groceries. It's more practical, mostly due to the hatchback, but saying the tC is more practical than the FR-S is like saying a Lotus Elise is more practical than an Ariel Atom. A small 2 door coupe is not a family car. This should go without saying.

I miss... the sunroof, sometimes. That's it.

ETA: As far as mileage goes, it's a wash. The FR-S gets better mileage, but wants 93 octane. Cost of gas is basically the same.

Oh yeah! That huge sunroof was pretty awesome, I do miss that on summer days.

Not at all. Just a Love for the Toyota Brand itself, if I was insecure becasue of a Scion logo I would have just bought a BRZ

Toyota>Scion

I am a fan of Toyota, but not a fan of Scion.

I don't have a problem with Scion at all, if thats what it takes to get great cars to the US such as the FRS then so be it. Now if I had a choice ofcourse I would want the GT86, and I know most people feel the same way. I believe if both the Toyota GT86 and the Scion FRS was available in the US, even if the GT86 cost a little more Scion wouldnt sale many FRS'

I had an 05 tC that I probably spent way to much money on.

the 05 tC had some nice things about it.

The stock sound system was great. Much better than the twins and most cars especially in that price range.

The panoramic roof.

The flat folding seats. (great for road trips, just pulled over stretched out and shut down for a few)

and interior space.

Performance in mind.... the tC was not intended to be a performer.

My tC had the TRD supercharger w/ a 9.5 lb pully, Quaife Torsen LSD, Hotchkis sways, TRD shocks/struts and springs, CM stage 3 clutch and light weight flywheel. Magnaflow cat-back..

It was pretty quick straight line, but it never felt like a sports car.

New perspective for me. Makes perfect sense.

But tC is more Toyota than the twins not in the sense of where they are sold but in the sense that they were wholly designed and manufactured by Toyota in Toyota's Tsutsumi plant (along with Camry and Prius) unlike the twins which are built in Subaru's Gunma plant.

My husband and I own an '05 tC and '13 FRS. The tC is his DD and the FRS is my DD. His tC has a rear sway bar, injen short ram intake, and 18" RS1.0 Enkei rims on 245 tires. The rims and tire combo has affected overall MPG (which we anticipated) but the ride is much more planted. However with that said the handling compared to a stock FRS (ok 99% stock, I have a Perin CAI) does not compare. The set up on the FRS gives you so much feedback that you feel you and the FRS are working together vs a driver driving a car. You cannot compare space in the car, these are two different categories of cars.

I had an 05 TRD SC tC. It was fun from a dig, roll out of 2nd gear, and exiting corners. Yet it does not hold a candle to the FRS. I had the car for 9 years since I bought it brand new. It was bullet proof. Yet was time to move on. All and all the cars are hard to compare. Gas mileage is about the same. Insurance did not change much for me at all. The tC might feel like it has more umph is because of the shorter gears to compensate for the 4 banger Camry motor.

I had a tc for maybe 6 months. It was ok for a simple a to b car. Nothing else though.

It was boring. You can tell immediately when you sit in it that it's a sub 20k car

i had a 2012 Scion TC for a year. great car IMO.
I did TRD sway bars and springs on it. handled great. (coming from a guy who owned an 08 STI and a 350z)...
The only thing that a TC is better than an FRS at is Utility and practicality...

other than that the FRS > TC
