I just got them put in yesterday. I'm extremely sensitive to the drone since I have holes in both my ear drums. I'm leaving my silencers in and it is so much better. I would like a little less cabin noise.
I don't remember exactly but it was probably around 1500 miles and you begin to hear a tone change. In your situation though it may be something you will always be sensitive to.

Looks like I have a lot of driving to do lol. I know for a fact that I'm always going to be sensitive. It's a shame. Good thing is I can tolerate it with the silencers. I do enjoy it. But I would be a little more satisfied with decreased cabin noise. I love how its nice and silent at a red light though. I can hear my Injen CAI. Without them it was just too much.

Nope. If your car is brand new, I'd be asking the dealer for the stock system unless your paperwork identifies the evo3 and they are warrantying it.

Maybe one of their techs was trying to get rid of their evo3 for stock and pulled a fast one. They aren't selling the evo3's anymore from what I read. They replaced it with a better system.

The evo3 is also considerably louder than stock, ask them if they will cover any fines you receive if you have noise ordinance rules in your locality.
