IF and its a big IF Toyota trying to match or beat Subaru in this race and IF the BRZ is under 40k or even 40k, spec wise i would expect the entry level 86 at 35k drive away.

To my knowledge and correct me if im wrong but the Higher spec 86 and BRZ are similar but BRZ slightly more upmarket. I dont know how but i read it somewhere.

So if i read it correctly entry level > Highest level as GT-GTS-BRZ. Subaru we know cant really be anywhere near the WRX at 44k hence i say 40k then i would read it as 35k-38k and 40k respectively.

Considering the usual offerings of grades these price differences seem logical. Of course we are STILL WAITING

I am yet to see anything about BRZ being more upmarket.

This is certainly the case for US but not necessarily here. All Subaru mentioned was there will be 1 model only with lots of standard features. But the top spec 86 we are getting seems to be have all the features maybe except for the aero parts.

So our BRZ will probably has similar spec with the top 86 or less. However judging with the spotted pics, it seems to miss a few features from the top 86.

That car couldve been anything for anyone, doesnt mean it is or isnt the aussie market version.

I remember reading an older article oh i dunno maybe 12mths ago about the BRZ in all models would be of higher quality trim and plastics then the 86 counterpart.

Hence the different part numbers, although that theory is also being tested as not so true, some Toyota part numbers are close to subaru's.

Ill see if i can find the article, although alot has happened and many other reports have taken over since. Maybe it was at 1 of the Japanese motor shows.

Please have a look at the Japanese Subaru and Toyota website and compared with the info on the following link. See what's diff in spec and u will see we are pretty much getting the top spec 86 (which is similar to the top spec BRZ) and I'm not sure how BRZ can come in a better spec of our top spec 86.

Sorry i shouldn't stated that i remember reading somewhere (im still looking for it) that Subaru plan to use better materials in the brz then what the 86 will have.

Better cloth, better leather etc etc although alot's happened since then and anything could of changed.

Yes we know
