First up was to improve the breathing ....

This is the standard setup on the 86.

ATS supplied a cold air K&N induction kit. 50 minutes with my 19 year old mechanic assistant ....

Follow easy to use instructions and basic hand tools are all that is needed.

Today paid RGM for the Supercharger ..... 2 weeks to wait for new kits to arrive ..... watch this space.

Ordered EBC yellow front brake pads from Formula Friction and should land in next week. Rims off to be black powder coated. Retaining original rims to keep unsprung mass as light as possible.

15mm spacers flying in from Super GT in UK ...should arrive by Friday.

Will post more as things develop.

Finally a SA Build thread! Nice! Can you post a video of the exhaust sound?

And provide the details of the exhaust?

Looks good! Did the induction make any noticeable difference?

On lower revs, no difference between a stock and hi flow air filter. As revs go past 4500rpm, breathing gets more restrictive on standard setup.

Gains only above 4500rpm to 7400 rpm redline and at best ... 5kW on this K&N intake. That is well within variables on a standard vehicle so no, you will not feel it. Is it worth the 9K it costs ..... would say no. A K&N replacement filter would be more bang for buck but forget about massive increases. 2-3 kW is realistic above 4500rpm.

BTW, this K&N kit will be taken off for the supercharger. So watch the for sale section in the near future. It's a good and well designed piece of kit and will come with all boxes and instructions as well.

On exhaust. ECU goes crazy if cats are removed. TNT did the rear box with twin pipes for me and fitted a hi-flow cat. Will get wheels back this Thu so will get xhaust note video then. It does make the revving a little more responsive above 5000rpm and there is a little more below that .....

But again well within normal variables so no, would not say much gain from xhaust except a more pronounced xhaust note. Cost at TNT in Germiston was 2.5k.

Thanks! It would be a great if you could post a video up on Youtube. Iv searched far and wide on the net, and theres no video's on the TNT exhaust systems.

I am trying to research all exhaust options in SA at the moment, so I make the right choice.

This is what I know so far thats available(Reasonable in SA):

1) BRZ exhaust - R5,500 (Approx R6,500 Fitted) (Bolt on Catback)
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...t=63713&page=2

2) Powerflow exhaust - R2,500 Fitted (Custom)
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...ight=powerflow

3) Remus exhaust - approx R12,000 fitted (Bolt on Catback)
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...t=23727&page=3

4) RGM exhaust - R7,000 fitted (With header decatted)(Custom)
(Youtube search: "RGM 86")

5) TNT exhaust - R2,500 fitted (Custom)
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25797

The TNT exhaust was considered on this Forum, but no one ever gave feedback or a video of the exhaust.

Please Sir...Post a video...you will make possible dreams come true.

Alternatively, will you be attending any TTCC events?

Thanks

Plan is to attend TTCC event in near future although more likely my 19 year old will take the car.

Will get sound track uploaded when video is taken. Should be in next few days.

On TNT ...... whole different kettle of fish. TNT is in Germiston and walking into a factory setup, there are more customs and high end racers, including V8 Modifieds and track cars than you can imagine.

TNT is not a mass production facility. They develop highly specialized exhaust systems on a custom basis. Prices are reasonable but the craftsmanship is beyond anything else you will find in SA and I include RGM xhausts.

But you have to know what you want when you call TNT. Staff is used to dealing with very technical and informed racing drivers so yes, daunting at first and you will likely walk away feeling let down. That is normal ....they don't do mod's on cars, they don't do ECU flashing .... they build the best exhaust systems in SA by far.

Give them a call .... TNT 011 822 1772
