If you want to give the foam another shot, let me know. I'm not there, but my parents will be this weekend. And like I said, I have fiberglass, CF, and epoxy resin that you could play with.

I appreciate it buddy. My thoughts are alot simpler than even that. But I'm gonna get the whole rear of the interior apart and see what I can work with. Might pull off something wicked.

That's actually not a bad idea. If l wasn't so deadset on moving it to the roof line and making it nearly the width of the rear glass, that woul be my next direction.

Do you have pics of this? I think I've seen it before.

I'm mainly looking to move my 3rd brake light to get rid of the rattle

I think if you remove your 3rd brake light you'll have to find some way to cover up the holes.
As far as the rattles, I ended up putting a small rubber stopper between the 3rd brake light and window. That helped with the rattles, but then my brake light housing came apart/warped with the heat. I ended up removing the rubber stopper, clipped the housing back together, and I haven't had any rattles since then. lol.

No installation pics, I removed the whole rear deck to get my windows tinted, and while I was at it I modded the 3rd light as I hate how high it sat. It's not as close to the window as oem and at night there is a slight red light reflection off the back window. Doesn't bother me but it might bother some!

I placed it so that it covered up the original mounting points for the pedestal, and I had to drill two holes in the light itself and through the deck material to mount it. As of now there are two small bolts holding it down, which I plan to replace with some flat head fasteners eventually. i think it looks decent, and the light output from outside is fine.

anyway some pics I just snapped:

Not a problem, I've thought about pulling it all out and doing a write up but I've been lazy lol. Perhaps you could do one, a lot of people don't like these 3rd lights!

Heads up though, to get the pedestal off of the deck you have to drill out some plastic rivets. So it's not really reversible once done!
