Not saying it won't start with a 3 but as at this moment it's not official.

As far as I'm concerned, if it's not on the official website or a press release, it's not official. quotes on articles are just that.

Well that's what I meant by sort of official. The "we are working on a price starting with 3" was said by Toyota. That doesn't mean anything but

They say that so that they dont feel guilty selling it for that figure when in fact it could/should be lower and the consumer is none the wiser, or so they think.

Remember dealers are masters of deception and trickery in their field. Well i think they are.

there wont be any bargaining in the initial sales of these cars so they'll most liklely be 40k drive away (for base that is). im being conservative and allowing 42k driveaway. im expecting the worse, dont wanna get hopes too high

They said 40k cus of a guess. When I first shows guys at work (car nuts) they said min 40..
The thing is if Toyota Australia puts up lets say 34krrp on the website, they are going to have a VERY hard time explaining the price, so ppl that agreed to 40ish will be happy it's cheaper
They can't charge way to much over, there are governing bodies preventing that

4 years ago we weren't in worldwide economic crisis so 20k might have been feasible. Ever heard of inflation? Cars that were 20k 4 years ago are 22-24 now.

Whatever the reason it is, it's not my point when I used that example.
