I disagree completely. If you want the limited now, I doubt a set of wheels and tires will change how you feel. Change your order if you can; the climate control and keyless entry are worth the price different alone IMO.

Emailed them back and said I'll stick with the Premium. Both the sales rep and the sales manager are doing an awfully good job of avoiding my other questions, though. Those being:
1) What's my position on the pre-order list and how long is it? 2) Will I be paying the $26,245 MSRP? |

I don't care about the climate control. Given the small cabin size, I doubt having dual-zone climate control will make a big difference. The only features I really want from the Limited are the upgraded seats, fog lights, and maybe the keyless engine start. It's whatever, though, because I'd rather get the Premium ASAP than wait longer for the Limited. Saves $2000 of creature comforts I don't really need. Keep in mind I've been driving a '97 Civic sedan ever since I started driving (only about 4 years) and I honestly don't mind doing some things manually.

Keyless start was another thing that's just like... meh. Pretty soon we'll have cars that drive themselves at the press of a button. I actually enjoy the feel of turning the key in the ignition. Don't need a damn button for everything, IMHO. |

Got answers to my questions...
1) Will I be paying the $26,245 MSRP for the car? 2) How long is the pre-order list right now, and what's my position? 3) Is there an estimate of when my car will arrive? Says the sales manager: 1. Ounce the vehicle has been built We will update you with MSRP. 2. NO telling How LONG your Position is Could be as early as Nov or Dec 3. NO NO No As "early Nov or Dec"? I've made it very clear to these people that I won't be able to buy the car from them if it's going to arrive later than July, yet it took almost 10 email correspondences before they finally give me the answer I don't want to hear. I'm 100% aware that the dealerships aren't getting all of their cars shipped at once, but the sales rep made it sound like I'd be getting mine some time between May and July, which is the whole reason I wanted to ask them to clarify. Bad service is bad... |

Fog lights will be pre-wired for a fairly simple DIY install.

I would just stick with the premium, honestly the limited upgrades putting the car at about 30 grand otd isn't worth it to me. It's funny how people really want the push start...when I first made an account here one of my first threads I started was about wanting push start in the Ft-86 and everyone objected it but when the Fr-S production released everyone cried about how it didn't have it...don't get me wrong I wish the premium had it too and that's all I want from the limited but def not worth it at that price point.

Yep, I almost thought of switching my order, but glad I stuck with the Premium.
- Yeah the HVAC controls are not as expensive looking, but they looked fine to me in the flesh. I actually liked how they operated (simple, intuitive and will still function properly in 10-15 years). - The Subaru cloth seats are very nice in person, much darker looking than in photos. - Little silver accents on the dash can be purchased from the parts dept later, if you want them. - Push button start is only useful for showing off to 18-25 y/o girls. The key works fine for me. The push start is not anymore convenient, just has "cool factor." - I like the front end better without the fogs - I like the TRD duckbill spoiler, and will add that later, so I am happy I am not paying for the BRZ spoiler. - I actually think the heated seats would be nice if I lived in a cold area, but I don't so I'm fine without them. - Lastly, the Premium still comes with the awesome looking (and HID) headlights, and a good electronics package (Navigation, bluetooth, etc) which are features I do value. Bottom line for me was $2,000 is a fair chunk of change that I could use on things I want (more than enough to fund my set of PF01s and 235/40/17 Star Specs or R1R). The BRZ Premium, to me, is a great deal. |

Oh man, if you've not had a car with the push start you're missing the point! Never having to fumble for a key to open the door or trunk is the benefit. It is amazingly fast to get in the car and setting off down the road with this feature. After you've had it you'll wonder why you never had it before! I'll never get a car without it now! Two button presses and I'm on my way without having to dig in my pockets. (Three if I have a passenger.)

Anyone know if the dual zone AC is a clean swap into the Premium BRZ? That and the alcantara bits (not the heated seats) are what I am interested in the most. I really hope the dual zone AC is just that whole assembly behind the nob and has nothing to do with ECU fuses, wires, pipes etc.

From what I've heard you'd need to change out wiring harnesses for the dual zone HVAC and push start to work. Which is extremely difficult because tons of other things are wired to it and it is buried deep so things would have to be uninstalled to access it the plugs. The service hours on that alone could approach $1k. If the procedure isn't outlined in the service tech manual there's a chance the dealer won't do that service at all. Due to the highly complicated nature of this swap, there's also potential of things getting installed incorrectly. Again, I haven't attacked this problem myself; it's just what I remember hearing from owners who have researched this already.
I would wait it out for what you really want: the Limited.
