Look at it this way: the challenger will never handle really well, given it's weight. That being the case, might as well give it a crap load of power!!

Alternatively couldn't they put it on a diet? At least get it to something like 3,600lbs which is still really porky but not so insane.

Why are people surprised that a forum dedicated to a 2,800 lb, 200 hp, 151 ft-lbs of torque sports is less than enthused about a 4,300 lb, 707 hp, 650 ft-lbs or torque muscle car?
Entirely opposite ends of the spectrum, meanwhile cars like the Alfa 4C, Cayman, Boxster, Miata spark hundreds of pages of discussion. It's like going to an Xbox or Playstation forum and posting about PC's

Weighs too much, so poorly engineered, doesn't handle well, and shouldn't be a performance car?
Oh.

Over priced, Fiat really screwed the pooch on this one.
Who would buy a Hellcat Dodge over a c7 vette? Only people who couldn't get their hands on a c7 vette and couldn't wait. |

Official Power Figures for the Dodge Challenger Hellcat. 707 HP!
Quote:
Correct, no compelling argument to buy that instead of a C7. The C7 is one of the best cars you can buy right now American or otherwise. A bargain to boot. Well, there is one compelling argument, 2 more seats. Sorry

lol 707hp. A S/C on a SRT8 will come in for thousands less than the hellcat with very similar performance, and less insurance.
Not impressed.

People who want a more comfortable car that can seat four if needed and happens to be much faster in the 1/4 mile (11.2 s @ 125 mph vs. 12.2 s @ 117 mph)?
In fact, you could argue the Hellcat is a much better car for the majority of people out there (i.e., guys who won't take their cars to the track, but care about straight line speed and overall comfort). BTW I can't believe I'm defending this car, given how much I love lightweight cars at the track. Different folks for different folks though.

That is an impressive 1/4 mile time, not an impressive trap speed though.
I guess if you're looking for straight line performance. |

You can't be serious. Factory versus mod. Can you maybe get the same power for less, but does that include you upgrading the entire drivetrain, cooking system, and braking system? Nope. Also kiss your warranty good bye. This price is a screaming deal. I bet Toretto already has one on order haha. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
