I'm 43 and have a 2013 FR-S 6MT which I purchased, hmm, just about one year ago. So far:
TRD Exhaust TRD CAI Motegi M121 Alloy Wheels Dunlop Direzza Zii tires Open Flash Tablet Open Flash Header (on order) Grimspeed Front Strut Tower Brace Grimspeed Master Cylinder Brace Motul 600 Brake Fluid Stoptech Brake Pads The car isn't my daily driver and it's garaged most days and used mainly on weekends and for the occasional track day. So I've only racked up about 3700 miles so far. EDIT: and for goodness sakes, the best part of the 80s WAS the music! |

I love seeing older people drive the 86, nothing cooler than seeing a grey/white haired driver on the roads.

I think it has f* ck all to do with age or whatever. I bought it because I wanted a small sports car and I love the way this car looks... One of the sexiest body styles I've seen since I met the old lady.
I think everyone is all riced out, Foosed out, and choppered out. Small sports cars are back in a big way this year! I've seen more mini muscle on the road this year than I have in years! And I'll tell ya... It's good to see. The older guys legitimize it for the younger guys too, which is good. It's good to see autocross back and affordable track days, and sports car class back on TV. Looks like good times ahead for a bit until the next dumbass fad comes along and screws it up. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Big D FRS
I'm 57. I use this as my DD. Got the car the 2nd day out May 27th 2012. Paid 5
grand over MSRP. Back then in Florida the car was either above sticker or you didn't have the ability to buy it. It's still like that on the East coast here in Florida. Have 3 other cars and 2 of them are loud as hell with MT (Roush Mustang, Nissan Maxima, Cadillac Fleetwood). I'm keeping the exhaust quiet for now. It seems that the hp gain is not that much with aftermarket parts without a tune. Having stock exhaust also allows for constant "bring it to the redline" type of driving". The car is great on gas and feels like you are going fast without getting a ticket for flooring the car. In the far future.... I am interested in a LS3 engine swap with a 520hp crate motor from Chevy with a Tremec 6 speed XL trans. A company is developing a kit that will be turnkey. And it will only weigh 30 to forty pounds more. The stock motor and all the things to make it FI is pretty expensive. Close to 9 grand for all the goodies to get a reliable car. I would rather go for the LS3 swap when the time comes. It will cost about 19 grand if I use a new crate motor and trans. It will cost about 9 grand with a used motor and trans. For now I will drive the car as is for the next few years and let the designers work out all the details of an LS swap. So far the engine fits (LSx) way back into the engine bay with the company that I'm watching (Vorshlag) Firestorm Red MT Kosei 17" wheels Dunlop 225 Star Specs Window Tint Bespoke Head Unit Professionally painted Dupont Yellow Calipers Undercar Multicolor Lighting Inside Multicolor Lighting Engine Bay Multicolor Lighting (Wanted) JDM Exhaust tips

59 here. This is my 423rd vehicle (110 were motorcycles) and it provides more smiles per mile than any other car I have had and that includes 46 Corvettes and most every exotic and muscle car you can imagine. Only mods are K and N filter, catback exhaust, window tint, 3M invisashield, and mud flap kit. Don't really want to do much and fool with the great gas mileage.
