Complications involved in bigger rims?
I own the base GT model that has 16" stock rims. I was concerned about how harsh the ride would be if I had moved to 18" rims so I decided to go with 17" since it's the same as the GTS rims.
As for tyres, I ordered ZENNA ARGUS 215/45ZR17 91W as part of the wheel package. I bought a set of XXR 530 17x7.5 My current stock tyres are YOKOHAMA 205/55/R16. Would I need to re-calibrate my speedometer, suspension or anything, or could I just get them fitted and not have to worry about anything? Also, if I wanted to maintain my car's current height, would it be a costly process to lower the car by an inch or so? Thanks in advance! |

You don't need to do anything. The new 215/45/17 tire is actually about 0.3 inches smaller in diameter than the 205/55/16, so the car will actually sit slightly lower.

Not worth the trouble since it'll read roughly 1 km/h slower.

HI, Where you got the XXR 530 17x7.5? I only saw 17x7 and 17x8.25 on their website. http://www.xxrwheels.com/xxr_530.shtml Thanks. |

Does that mean I'll be driving 1km faster? Driving at 61km/h while it reads 60km/h?
I'm just a little concerned about speed cameras. Oops I think that was a typo. But here's where I got them from. www.ozzytyres.com.au |

Okay, completely unrelated to what I was asking about earlier, what about if I went with 18" rims with tyres 225/40/18? There's a set in 18" that I like a lot and would consider it if there aren't any complications involved. What are your opinions? |

Diameter is about the same as stock, so again, the difference is negligible. Expect a rougher ride though since sidewall height is reduced though. Here's a helpful tool:
