I just had my fuel pump replaced by the dealer under warranty. No more crickets, but as everyone has pointed out, it will probably come back. Odd thing though, my MPG went up. I did not change my driving at all but I went from an average of 26.3 to 27.8.

Just to let you guys know that we are not the only one with the cricket problem.

The other day I pulled up behind a Corvette at an intersection I started to hear that familiar chirping sound. "Shiiiiiet, they're back..." I thought. Then, as the Corvette pulled away from in front of me the sound went away with it. At the next stop sign I pulled up right behind it. Sure enough, I hear those mega crickets again. haha BTW Have you heard a Mini Cooper S? Those things sound like friggin diesel mack trucks. tick tick tick tick... so dont feel bad, guys.

8,850 miles on my '14 and they seem to be completely gone. Will update if they return.

True~
Mine started quiet down around 9k miles and now I hear it hardly. Last weekend was even 97°f here and never heard chirping.
People, Stop trying different stuff to get rid of it. Just fill up e10 until it goes away.

You were probably hearing the sound of your car reflecting off of the Vette. I only notice the chirping if my car is near a wall or surrounded by other cars.

I am pretty sure that I hear the crickets.. 19K on my 2013. I actually thought it was the belt squealing after it warmed up but when I sit there and listen to it for awhile it does sound like a cricket chirping really fast. Is this worth trying to get fixed? these cars make so many sickly sounds I have grown to start ignoring most of them lol

I'm at Toyota now and they said they might not even replace the pump because it still hasn't been corrected. Even though they told me it has a new part number..

My FR-S has crickets, but they come and go. I can hear them depending on which brand gas I use and other times I don't hear anything. I will mention it when I take it in for it's first service. It's not a major issue for me, but it does kind of suck when trying to show the car off to friends.

Has anyone tried quieting them by insulating the fuel pump? If so, let us know how well it worked and what materials you used.
