Dude, this week is just bad luck for me. I was just sitting in my living room watching tv and a group of teens outside just shot a BB through my living room window. Wtf. I'm curious if it's related to my car break in...

Actually looking into buying a gun now. Lol. I don't ever expect to use it, but if for some reason things continue to get worse and someone tries breaking into the condo I have to be able to protect myself and my gf. 2 incidents in one week seem rare, but I've only been here since the middle of May. If this turns into a regular thing then I'm definitely going to look into moving. For now I'm gonna look into a car alarm, alarm system for the condo, and a handgun.

Of course right now we don't have any kids...otherwise I'm not sure if I'd be comfortable having a weapon...even with a weapon safe or trigger lock.

I agree with Jyn, going out to a range and renting several firearms is going to be a great way to boost your confidence, accuracy and find out what fits you. |

Thanks. Appears my gf was already looking into that place last night. We'll definitely have to try it out.

So Progressive just got back to me about my damages. They're willing to cover replacing the plastic trim around the NAV and the dash panel. Also, my rear trunk mat was torn when the theif pulled my subwoofer/amp out of the trunk...so they're willing to replace my trunk mat.
$500 deductible for them to replace 2 plastic panels and trunk mat. Progressive told me they won't cover the replacement of the NAV and instead give me $250 towards the cost. Progressive also told me that they couldn't find any screw holes where the sub and amp were mounted, so they're not giving me anything for that. So all in all, I'm paying $500 deductible so that they can replace 2 panels, 1 trunk mat, and give me back $250 to cover the ($500) NAV and ($700) sub/amp You better believe I just bitched the hell out of them right now. Their excuse for not replacing the NAV is because, "Our shops aren't able to locate a replacement." I called BS on that and told them, "It's a factory NAV unit!! The shop obviously called Subaru to order the new panels. Are they not smart enough to order a NAV from the factory as well?! I just had my NAV replaced by the factory for some defects so I know for a fact you can get it from Subaru in less than a week." The Progressive agent was like, "Oh....I see..." Then I asked why they weren't covering my stolen sub/amp from the trunk. They tried to get out of being responsible for it by saying, "We can't cover the cost of your sub/amp unless our shop finds the screw holes proving your items were mounted and not sitting loose in the trunk." I explained there are clearly mounting screw holes on the back of the rear seats as well as on the trunk mat. I also explained, "If your chosen shop isn't capable enough to find a few screw holes from where my sub was mounted then I'm not sure I want those guys working on my car. Those mounting points are very, very obvious. I even gave you a receipt that shows charges for installation. Contact that shop where I had the work done and ask them yourselves if they would've mounted my system or just left it loose in the trunk." Progressive said, "We'll email our shop and we'll have this sorted out on Monday." So, I'm extremely pissed. Come Monday they're gonna seriously get bitched at. It's so insulting that I pay $130 a month with a $500 deductible and all they're willing to cover are the cheapest parts and cut me a $250 for the rest. Fuck that.
