Received my STI engine and transmission mounts. Not really looking forward to the install, but I'm definitely looking forward to the results. I hate the sloppy factory mounts.

What's the purpose of a flexible strut tower bar?

STI transmission mount vs OEM. STI on the bottom, notice the extra rubber. With this mount and the two STI engine mounts (no picture, they look identical to OEM) it actually feels like the engine is connected to the car. Imagine that! There's a barely perceptible difference in vibration at idle, which actually makes it feel like there's an engine under the hood.

The installation of the engine mounts was pretty easy, just needed to jack the engine up ~5" to get clearance for the driver's side mount to squeeze out. The trans mount was cake too.

These mounts are something I think I'd really enjoy. Glad to hear you're liking them.

Maybe next summer.

They should have been in the car stock. IMO the factory ones were terrible.

Cracked the 5th digit tonight coming home from work. Also threw in some Pentosin MTF2 in the gearbox. Shifting feel wonderful!

Please tell me that this picture is photoshopped, and you weren't really taking a picture of your odometer while driving 54 mph down the road. At night.

Received another replacement mid-pipe under warranty from Mann Engineering / Milltek. I asked if they could send me a non-resonated midpipe this time since the resonator broke in the same spot on the two resonated ones I've had. They agreed to do so and put a non-resonated pipe in the mail earlier this week-- I received it from England today. Very impressed with the customer service from both companies: literally all I had to do was send them a picture of the failed pipe and the serial number and they took it from there. The next thing I had to do was carry the package in from my doorstep. Definitely a stark contrast to trying to deal with replacements for electronics / PC components...

Anyway, since I figured I'm one of the few people to have both exhaust setups available, I made a video of this one as well to go along with the one I made a while ago of the resonated setup. Here it is:

Sorry the audio quality isn't great. I used the same mic / camera / location as the first video so that hopefully people can make a better comparison between the two.

Personally, I think I like the sound of this system better than the resonated one (it's a bit louder, and you can hear more of a distinct exhaust note than you could with the resonated version. I need to go for some drives though and see how it is to live with on a regular basis before I can really make a more in-depth comparison.

Oh, and the straight midpipe feels a lot lighter than the one with the resonator

WHAT DID YOU DO TO YOUR BRZ TODAY?

Not saying who, but a certain someone peed on my seat today... lol

Btw, anyone know how to get rid of the smell that's safe on the brz seats? The cleaner I used didn't get rid of the smell. Not sure if the pet odor remover I have will damage it.
