Usually vandalism is under your comprehensive portion of your insurance. I don't know about your specific policy, but my comprehensive deductible is only $ 50.

Check into it and make sure to file it under vandalism. It should be a pretty straight forward process given the nature of the damage.

Sorry to hear about your FRS.

Secondly, what a typical body shop will do is paint the entire side of the car. All you need to do is file a police report and then a claim.

Invest in a security system with a video camera and mic. Regardless of where you go, you'll always have that one person that will hate you for no reason.
1st off Stereo types are typically true.. Ive never even been to Cali and everyone i know from there says those places are bad places with high crime rates.

2nd off Ive never seen a body shop paint an entire side for a door panel scratching ( ive had 2 incidents myself of door panels being scratched ).

As for OP, get a permenant marker and draw in it, thats what I did with my cars before i took them get fixed.. it helps a little bit and less noticable from a distance.

If they paint the door only, the color will be different from the quarter panel and the fender. He can just paint the door and if it looks off... I did warn you.

The safest way for a blend is to paint the entire side.

Oh that hurts to see. You will have to get that side/panel painted by a body shop probably. I have some choice words for people who do that that will not be shared online. Good luck getting it fixed and hope turns out to be not much of a hassle to get it fixed.

Why would you blame the exhaust? Unless you're the kind that would rev your car everytime you pull into the complex.

Most of that might buff. (after wet sanding) Look closely to see if they just went through the clear coat or if they hit metal. White lines are ok, but if you see metal it needs a repaint.

A professional shop would spray the door and blend into the quarter panels.

Good luck.

Did this happen in the complexes right across from UCI? I used to live around there before moving to Texas. The college kids can be annoying.

What part of Irvine was it? And to be honest your exhaust would draw attention from the cops before it would be a concern for neighbors hell even tint is a magnet for Irvine PD. I have noticed a lot more kids moving into the northside who stare others down but for the most part Irvine is a pretty safe and friendly community. I guess better question would be what apartment community is it?

I had a silver fender repainted with no blend since I didn't want it on my insurance record.

It turned out great! Plus black is easier to match.

IMO take it to the best high-end body shop in town and just see what they say.

Just saw you are in Irvine. Take it to European Motor Car Works. They do great work!

Wow that blows! A good body shop would blend this in.
