Looks like lots of fun! Also loved the female instructor and how she kept her legs crossed the whole time.

Maybe taking the time to understand the stock version FR-S would have revealed that, if you wanted to love it, the car is more Nerf than Lego. The car definitely posesses Nerf-like principles e.g. it'll help you have fun, use your imagination, and not kill yourself while playing with it. Legos OTOH are mostly about the build. Play is secondary. Stop trying to build on the Nerf car, and just go outside and toss it around.

Perhaps our desire to improve things too often superceeds the practical notion that years of Toyobaru R&D achieved something. Goal, purpose & direction are baked in there, done. In a way we just wouldn't accept it. The 458 revealed itself to Dezoris during his track time. The FR-S did the same to me my first day on the street. Problem is that the FR-S' has fat but fast competition, compromises to lower the price, low slung looks, and huge aftermarket, so keeping hands off it long enough to understand the car was and is near impossible.
I mean these cars are all universally accepted as the Pinnacle of sports cars/super cars. We are talking 550+ HP here and 200MPH. To call the Ferrari a Nerf is probably a bad idea. I think I said this but I expected these cars to be race cars, and they are far from it. In fact I think what I brought away the most is that you can get into the FRS/BRZ and get the same sensation at a fraction of the cost. While I did not enjoy stock power levels of the FRS on track the dynamics were similar to the supercar.

The last track video I have posted with Turbowski and I driving the FRS gave me more joy than driving the McLaren. So while the car maybe nerfy driving these absurdly expensive junkers gave me some more appreciation for cars FRS and S2000, as you can have about as much fun in them and thats no BS.

Great video. I thought it was more enjoyable than a lot of professional reviews because of the first-person track footage.

The Ferrari would be my choice as well, although the instructor for that car seemed to be the most restrictive, particularly on braking and corner entry speeds. You were uncharacteristically gracious to her at the end, hmm, wonder why

I'd love to see what your driving impressions would have been with a GT3. Not only cheaper than the others, but might be closer to what you're looking for. It is, for me, my (possibly) attainable dream car.

The instructor I rode with set that track record in his GT3. Turbowski also worked with a World Challege team who ran two GT3 Cup Cars and all I hear is gushing about it. Sounds like you are dead on as it is the obtainable "super car" for the driver oriented mindset.

I was nice to her for two reasons.
1. The instructors talk after and it bought me cushion to be able to go near flat out in other sessions.

2. She had a vagina!

I like many of the pro reviews from Harris, Motortrend and Top Gear but they tend to flagrently over glamorize cars. Production value is so extreme, you miss actually seeing the car driven. So thanks is my point.
