Thanks to everyone who came out for today's drive and photo shoot at TI. Fun driving and hanging out with everyone, sorry the donut shop was closed! I really wanted a donut too.

OK -- I am thinking for this Saturday we will retrace the route we did earlier this year back in January. The weather will be even better this time around I imagine.

We will meet up at 10AM at the Starting Point:
Alice's Restaurant
17288 Skyline Boulevard Woodside, CA
(we can park across the street at Mountain Terrace if Alice's parking lot is full)

This is the route overview:

We'll take Skyline 35 to Hwy 9 south towards Santa Cruz. At Felton we take a little detour onto some fun little side roads that will take us out to the coast, then we cruise down into Santa Cruz. There we will stop at Upper Crust Pizza and there we can grab lunch. Afterwards we can visit Natural Bridges Park and take some photos, and then after that we can split our separate ways, go to the beach boardwalk or wharf, or continue more driving back towards home.

Time for this drive is probably about 1.5 hrs which if we depart around 10:30 should drop us in SC right around lunch time.

If you have radios (walkie talkies), bring them!

Construction on Hwy 9 out of Saratoga. Two places where it is one lane with "dumb" stop lights. "Dumb", meaning that there is no traffic loop, they are timed and you wait the whole time whether or not there is on coming traffic - does that make sense?

oh right, I remember seeing that the last time I drove that section of 9. But I only remember 1 place, are there 2 of them now? That's lame.

Let me know your thoughts guys. An alternative start point would be up at the Four Corners intersection of Hwy 9 and Skyline Hwy 35. Those who want to avoid the Saratoga part, could go up Page Mill from 280 to get to Skyline and we'd just meet at the parking lot at Four Corners. What do you say?

You can take pierce rd. to bypass the first light. The second light can be "bypassed" by waiting for 1 cycle of the light. But judging by the amount of people that will probably be going, that probably isn't an option.

honestly I don't like Black Rd that much. Too narrow and too many blind corners for a group to drive. i'd say we should meet somewhere else like Alice's, Page Mill/280 or just meet at Four corners. I'll let others weigh in as well before we decide what to do.

I agree about the Black Road thing... I would normally do that road on my own, but not good for a big group.
