Which lightweight shift knob did you end up getting?

That is what I thought. I'm just deciding whether to order this, but I'm not sure as people are saying the weight is like resting on the shifter, which is bad...

Hmmm......

Anyone got the new Raceseng "translucent" finish. I'm curious to see what it looks like in the car as the pics from Raceseng's site are a bit difficult to see:

Hey

I'm going to be taking in car pictures next week. The translucent finish is a red tinted clear powder coat that is applied over top of a hand brush finished shift knob. It looks sick in the sun light!

Hmmm......

The problem with resting your hand on the shift knob isn't the added weight. It's the fact that while resting your hand on the shift knob, you could be inadvertantly pushing it out of the gate which will wear the fork and synchros. Imagine you're leaving your hand on the knob in 3rd. You may unintentionally be pulling back on it (toward neutral). This is where the problem occurs, not when the shifter is at rest in its gate.

Similar idea to resting your foot on the clutch. You may inadvertently be actuating the the pedal causing your clutch to slip minutely. (although I guess in this sense, more weight would be a problem but you get the idea)
