ST has this clarification in place:
BMW 3-Series Listings For the purposes of Section 14.2.F.1, all BMW 3-series generations (E30, E36, E46, etc.) are considered the same model, including “M” versions. typically they don't want clarifications to cater to any one car, so, that would seem to imply for aero pruposes it's likely a safe bet that special model stuff will be allowable. If it's always just "STI" marketed stuff though, you'll want to find a U.S. based BRZ catalog that talks about it as an optional accessory as opposed to just an "STI" catalog. And in case of weenie protests you'll probably want that stuff anyway even if you get a good source for the information. But until that Blue Edition with that stuff is sold in the US, I think that's a grey area too far if that's what you're relying on. |

So as I sit here contemplating ditching the WRX for one of the Twins, I have some questions.
Since I'll likely want to run the car in Street for a while to learn how to drive momentum & rear drive, how are the SA MCS shocks for STX? Presumably the C-street ones can be converted to coilovers with ease? Seems like most people use the KWs... Anyone daily drive a well prepared one in STX trim? How is it for that? |

Daily driving ride is perfectly fine on the KW. The car in stock trim actually doesn't ride all that well to begin with (it's pretty bumpy). |

I don't daily drive mine but I do Drive to events, hours at a time. I really don't have any issues, it is relatively comfy.. even with a fixed back Race seat. Depending on what spring rate you go with.. obviously the stiffer it is...the harsher its going to ride. even with properly valved shocks. .. and you won't regret going to STX in a 'momentum' car.. as it usually out handles most things..![]() Bill

Bill, I'm in STX right now in the WRX, on RCE T2s. Nice to know the twin won't be much harsher.
Weeple, good to know it won't work like that. I was really hoping it was a setup that could be upgraded. Vs getting konis, doing CS for a while, then buying new stuff for STX. maybe I'll just do bar & tires for a little while, then dive right in. Still wavering on actually going through with this or not, but, there will be some 'for sale' signs on the WRX at Packwood this weekend... |

That adds to the cars charisma. And I here ya on "more for protection". We have to learn to Not hit cones. It takes a lot of elbow grease to get rid of the scuff marks.

![]() Sideskirts are up next.. don't know if I will get them on before Peru this coming weekend.. but at least the front end is protected now.. *for the most part... Also notice my Duck tape job where the bumper mates up with the fender. I have broken the right side bracket about 3 times now.. So the Duck Tape 'should slow that down to hopefully not breaking it as often.. and ...it gives a little bit of a visual effect..![]() Bill
