Just curious, those of you who have installed HID kits in your headlights, have you had any issues related to the bulbs flickering or having a short lifespan? I was thinking about installing some but was told don't bother, as i'll likely run into issues and they won't last more than 1-2 years, regardless of quality.

Before I got the fr-s, I had kensun hid on my scion tc and they lasted me more than a year. Bulbs flickered either their almost about to die or you didn't start the car first before turning on the hid since they use a lot of power when first turned on.

Turns out I'm heading to Havasu this weekend. Any Havasu 86ers on here? I think I remember missing someone when I was there last.

Edit: it was @Osiris.

Thanks for the offer. I might take you up on that some time. I keep finding myself needing a TIG but I don't know anyone who has one.

I have the Morimoto xb35 6ks in my car and though they flickered a little at first that went away. Outstanding customer service and I think a 7 year warranty? Easy to install and I like the fact that they use a heavy duty harness utlizing batt power as opposed to direct off the 16ga(?) wire for the headlights. Before I found them I was going to order either Bellof or PIAA, but they are very expensive.

My $.02

So I have another question...

I disconnected my battery to pull some airbag panels as I am doing complete sound dampening to my car. This morning and the last time I reconnected my battery I noticed the throttle response is...slow? I feel like I have to press the pedal further then normal in order to get the revs up. Almost as if it is hesitating in the lower rpm range, but without all the collateral knock, bang, etc.

I haven't experienced this with other drive by wire cars, newer technology cars. I understand the ecu resets, but i wasn't under the impression it 'learned' a driving style, but more what the parameters of the car are.

Thoughts?

Just drive it and it'll slowly come back. I noticed the same thing.

Does it heat soak in these beautiful temps we have out here. Tell us how it goes this week with the 110 excess temps for the next 3 days.

I will take the blue ball, no pun, if it doesn't sizzle the skin. I think that's the 3 ball.
