Tech case?

Long story short... I had a shifter rattle on my 2014 FRS(car is 100% stock) on 3-4th gear. I took it to the dealer and they did the shifter rattle tsb(I guess they replaced the shifter lever). When I left the dealer, the rattle was much worse and it was now on 1st-6th gear. I immediately went back and dealer told me they opened a "tech case"...

What does that mean?

Also, one thing that I don't understand is that the dealer made my car worse but yet told me to go home with my car...

Thanks!!

it means that they've opened a case with toyota technical assistance on the problem the car is having, this can help with diagnosis, they can authorize parts replacements, and they can see if the issue the tech is having has happened to anyone else

So you took your car to the dealer and they made your tiny issue larger/worse. Precisely why I never go to the dealer for anything.
