@Chen is spot on. It's worth a visit to graze the food carts then work it off walking around town. Portland is famous for them with over 400 featuring menus from around the world. Here's an area of the city where they're packed in for a couple of blocks (scroll around).

I ate my way around a food cart competition last weekend. Exotic, authentic, ethnic eats at reasonable prices. The winner looked like a humble waffle until you tasted it and then read about how they're made. Yeah, Portland is foodie heaven.

Too many authentic (major heat) curry carts to count, just follow the great aromas.

Waffles are whatever you want from the menu or make up your own.

I'm sure some of the hospitable blokes here would join you touring Portland. It's even a fun train ride although their schedules can vary (being charitable).

Parking is easier and cheaper (free) on Sundays but many food vendors often have shorter hours than weekdays and close early.

you could always sleep in your car I need to get back downtown sometime and get some more food cart food....living in the burbs makes it a pain to go downtown and have fun
