MOST of that is from the sticky tire compound and wider tires. Anyone here who has upgraded their tires can attest to this. The rest is just trying to dial it in with the right bits, alignment, tire pressures, etc. |

a stock FRS on a decent highperformance street tire can reach 1.2g no problem... 1.3 with is easily possible with suspension mods. hell, I broke 1.0 peak on stock tires :/ Hoosiers can easily skyrocket you into much higher numbers than 1.3

peak of course ![]() although, take a look at section 13 and 15, both me and my co-driver hung on to very close full G on OEM's for some 50 meters each section.

Well considering Staggered wheels / tires are here, can anybody give me an opinion on what to do?
I'm looking at 2 sets of wheels, one are cast and heavier, but square, the other is a 3 piece (that I'm pretty sure are forged) and staggered. So which compromise do I make, lighter and staggered, or heavier and square? |

http://www.roadandtrack.com/special-...transformation Another test somewhere on a tuned frs got 1g skidpad on advan neova08. To get skidpad number in the 1.2 to 1.3 range would need like racing slicks and a super lightweight race car. Arial atom3 runs 1.12g skidpad. I honestly don't know how to evaluate peak g. How well does it correlate to cornering speeds? |

unless you're running long ovals, industry standard skidpad numbers are somewhat abstract. what makes the FRS, and other cars in it's category, so great is it's control during entry end exit of a corner Quote:
I got mine used for half price for a friend at that price point it's very well worth the money. you can save a lot of money though by going to app-based programs and Bluetooth gps receivers and the like, although with some you sacrifice on how much data you can pull. Although really speed and g-loads are probably the more important ones. Also keep in mind that the Aim Solo has an internal accelerometer. Something like SoloStorm or RaceChrono will derive a g-load graph based on GPS data.. and it is highly smoothed out compared to actual inputs

And this car is very much capable of over 1G with better tires. I don't know why thats hard to believe, this chassis is very much capable of that without requiring insane tire sizes and huge amounts of power. |
