hey, sometimes when you engage them, unexpected things happen. A kid in a Charger with a hemi pulled up next to me, looked my car up, then revved his engine loudly and looked me in the eye. I laughed, knowing there was not too much of a chance of me beating him. Just the same, I nodded. No one had really challenged me like that yet, and i figured if I did by some miracle beat him to the next light, I could laugh my ass off at him.

So there I sat, girlfriend next to me telling me not to be stupid, me ignoring her, and listening to this tool in a V-8 revving his engine in anticipation of racing my little 4-banger. I couldn't help but laugh.

Then the light turned green. I laid only a little rubber and got a great jump. I was already in 4th gear when I realized he wasn't ahead of or next to me... as he had stalled the car at the light. Never saw him again after that, as I was getting on the highway at the next turn.

Even if you lost...ignoring the girlfriend is always a win in my book.

Never mind the balls to take on a Hemi V8, it takes real balls to ignore the girlfriend. Hats off sir!

it turned out okay, as she was busy laughing at the Charger sputtering forward at the light. once she saw that, she forgot all about me ignoring her. Dodged a bullet there... no pun intended.

Actually... pun intended.

Some Douche in Berkeley with a C63 AMG tried to race me on a road that was straight for a block then had a 90 degree turn to the left. I had the inside lane he was to my right.

I did not race him but got up to the speed limit in 1st and shifted to second as I went through corner with no brakes. Mean while idiot got his big V8 redlining through gears only to slam on the brakes for the corner. Don't understand some people, but then again he was some douchey college kid so kind of expected.

Also he had an exhaust kit that made the car way to loud. Few blocks down the road he got pulled over. And again I just drove by gingerly.

It is until you put a classless douche bag in it who bolts on a shit sounding exhaust. I'd prefer a BMW still though... first manual car I drove was E36 M3

And am I correct in saying that the new C63 does not come with a manual gearbox? You get flappy paddles?

So clearly it is for douche bags who don't know how to drive an actual car.

Correct...every single amg

If we're talking german cars, real men drive Porsches/old school BMWs.

I like this guy. The last manual Mercedes offered was in the low end roadster models I believe.
