You just gave me a great idea. Make LEDs to spell "FUCK OFF" in the grill of the car, and wire them up to a switch. If someone cuts me off, switch them on. Not sure if there is enough room though.

Rigid makes some good lights and I run two of their bars and some Duallys as well, but honestly Baja Designs makes a higher quality bar with better output and better color for the same money. Now that I've tried them out, I won't be going back to Rigid. Rigid is still the most popular choice with the most options and the most advertising.

I ran a lot of lights on my Jeep for off roading, and I think LED bars are great. However, for this application they are not so great for a few reasons.
LEDs really shine (no pun intended) at closer ranges. Even in the offroad community people still use HID retrofits for long range. These cars aren't going to be doing 5-40mph on dirt roads. We are doing 50.. 60.. + on pavement and at those speeds you are outrunning the LED lighting. This is a doubly whammy because not only are you outrunning the light they produce, but they produce so much of it that your eyes are being drawn to the foreground that they light up so well instead of far away, where you should be looking when you are driving at higher speeds (like 50+). Sure, they look brighter, but for road applications they are essentially a waste of money. Just my $.02

honestly, i consider rigid to be the ricer wings and fart cans of the offroad world... too many people buy because of the name, and don't really care about the quality of the product. i've been researching led light bars for quite a while and at the level that rigid is at, you can save a lot of money buying a no-name chinese bar and get the same performance/quality level.. the chinese bars use the same 6000k led's that rigid uses, and very similar enclosure and reflector designs, as well as thermal throttling that pretty much every brand has. the only major difference is that rigid claims to be assembled in the US and costs more.. the last major issue i heard about, rigid had consistent issues with water retention that was turning many bars into fishbowls... they seem to have fixed that issue, but it took a long time for them to finally admit that it was their fault and to start replacing bars.. problem is, if you do buy chinese instead of rigid, then you don't get to flaunt the name in front of all your offroad buddies, and it's not worth +5hp like the rigid's...

Welded some custom made brackets to the plate behind the front bumper and used the hardware it came with, took about 1 hour. I'll be taking my bumper off again soon for my intake, I'll post pics later this week.

Hey, did you ever happen to get some pictures of the light install? I'm still really wanting to do a project similar to yours and wouldn't mind seeing what you did to accomplish it.
