Great roads....

So I was going to post this in the regional section, but I really think everybody needs to know about the roads in the Texas Hill Country. Specifically the roads around Leakey. There is a trio of roads known to the motorcyclists as the "Twisted Sisters" which are awesome. I've driven the Pacific Coast Highway, and the Tail of the Dragon, and I would rather drive these roads, honestly. Way less traffic, and a lot longer also. Just a threesome of hidden gems. Plus, when you're done you can sit your butt in the Frio river and drink an adult beverage of your choice...

Location info on the Twisted Sisters:

And if you're looking for twisty roads in your own area, that site has motorcycle roads all over the world. In the US, you can drill down by state and look at the maps. The roads lined in red are best.

Highway 16 between Medina and Kerrville in the Texas hill country is not bad...when it says 10 or 15mph, it means 10 or 15 mph! Hairpin turns on the "mountain" section, the undulating section along the rivers (+ and - G's), and the nice decreasing radius and blind sweepers are what make it fun. Would make a great rally stage. Have to watch out for deer though...

A few of us just got done driving the Twisted Sisters today. It wasn't too bad!

I'm still a little light headed from the roller coaster part though

If your in California check out the angles coast highway in the los angeles national forest. 55 miles of twisties with amazing views. Much more of a road than the pch as well.

Tail of the Dragon in NC, though I haven't found many other awesome roads in the southeast. There are a few other good roads in the same vicinity, but I find that slow people drive the good roads often...

The Cabot Trail On Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia Canada is suppose to be a beautiful drive. 266km long, going along the coasts and through the island.
