Superb sound clips, my friend! Quality is excellent as well! Though, as expected, it's not as rumbly as I imagined. Definitely probably because of the cat in the header. Maybe I'm being too gung-ho and picky about the rumble. I don't know... I just love that deep rumbly sound from the EJ engines.

Still learning. Another member had mentioned datazap in another thread today. Had never heard of it. Latest software is loaded. What/where are the templates you speak of?

Thanks! Yes, the cat definitely mutes some of it but the heads, cams are definitely contributing. I don't know of anything else besides cat removal to bring more rumble without opening the motor up.

I think forced induction FA20s still don't sound as good (opinion) as a modified EJ25.

Pretty sure the rumble comes from the difference in the length of the runners. At least, much more so than the cat. There aren't many uncatted FT86SF headers out there to compare to, so

Mr. California, since you're going to attack me directly by my location, then why are all your dumbass people moving to Austin, TX? Yeah, explain that one for me idiot.

If you're serious about performance and you're looking at a header, you should realize that you're already in the league of needing a tune. Part A typically leads to part B and part C. Things come together. Let me guess, you buy a turbo or supercharger and everything is included for performance, right?

Enjoy your emissions and 91 octane asshole. I'll enjoy my catless header, 93 octane, and lower cost of living. Also, please tell your idiots to stop moving here, you're ruining my city.
T_T so much hate =) I'm relocating to Tx soon anyway. I will like my 93 octane prz

Not every Californian is evil, you are welcome here so long as you don't bring your fellow Californian's attitude.

The ft86SF header isn't going to make much of a rumble noise compared to a Borla, JDL, or OFT. The runners aren't as unequal. I can't remember the exact measurements of these runners, but they are actually pretty close on both sides compared to the ones I mentioned. But it's enough to call it 'UEL'.

Even the other UEL headers for our car don't seem to make that much of a rumble compared to the EJ engines. Not because the EJ engine is more rumbley, but because the manifolds are...even more so unequal length.

WRX factory UEL manifold -

Aftermarket non-turbo UEL header -

compared to what we have available.

The OFT and Borla are pretty close, but the RH runners are still a tad bit longer than the WRX.

I'm in no way downing, or talking crap about FT86SF Header. It looks like a quality product, and I've had nothing but great business experiences with them. Just stating that if you want a very prominent rumble...should have bought a WRX.

^_^ thanks, I don't act nor am I "entitled" so I think it'll be good.

Going back on subject -- a few posts up the youtube vids with the exhaust sound is BADASS!!! =) Am I the only one that thinks that the rumble is overly hyped? I actually like a deep tone without the glugging of the engine all over the place even at idle.
