Big thumbs up for both of these points (though mostly the first one). I'm very interested in the final product. Awesome work!

im down for whatever. cut or not cut...

as for the extra downforce. is this going to be accomplished by using spill plates on the sides?

Maybe as a V2 for the race version we will add . The first revision of the race version is basically past analysis phase.

Reasons behind decision:

-This will move the ties/bracket as far away from any oil coolers, intercoolers, etc. that are installed in the front.
-For a BRZ it will require no cutting of the grill at all (and it may not require any cutting with an FR-S, not sure yet).

I'll have further pictures up tonight hopefully, it really will be a fairly straight forward install . But if collectively no one likes the idea, I will switch gears towards the riv-nut idea.
riv-nuts generally suck, imho.

I believe Paul was working on it but that was before we started a handful of other projects. We actually have quite a few products coming out later this year . Here's one, http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67898.

These are feasible out of carbon fiber and would be relatively cheap. Paul and I will see what we can fit in .

I would like to. It really depends on the time we have as I am starting a big new project that isn't out yet for these cars

install wasnt bad at all... the rivnuts arent terrible once you figure out the little tool. i didnt even bother putting the car up in the air to install and it went on without too much trouble.

Teaser?

Also, what's the price difference looking like in upgrading the current splitter vs holding off to buy the race version?

Their won't be much of a price difference. You will save on shipping but that is it really. We may assemble a few before I ship them to FT86SF but I'm not sure yet, so possibly save on labor as well?

Our idea behind the race splitter is that any customer can upgrade his/her street splitter to a race splitter at anytime really. They will be fairly straight forward to install. Tools necessary will likely only be a 1/4" drill bit and drill of your choice.

The current design CFD analysis shows a 15% increase in downforce with minimal increase in drag.

I'm interested in the struts/race version as well. I don't have any problems modifying my grill if needed (FRS). I can't say I've had any trouble with it currently. Clearances are similar to before the splitter, so expect to scrape places you scraped before (low car problems). I do scoop up mud from a mud puddle in my driveway... so I'll have to fill it in lol
