That's a good looking shoe. I'd much rather see those rereleased than the aj10 "Chicago's"or red/cement ones they're doing next year.

I'm still holding out hope for some more 12's. When I was a kid I always loved the 6, 11, and 12's the most, but 11's were always a little too flashy for me with the patent leather.

I wish I'd paid a little attention to the retro sneaker releases prior to now. I missed all the rereleases of my favorite models. lol

My Nike Hyperize have crapped out on me finally after 5 years of balling in them. Since I normally don't ball in the shoes I collect, I'm looking for suggestions for a good shoe that will last me just as long on the court. High tops only please. I love my ankles!

OG Xs are so awesome. There's a Steel Grey pair in my size for sale, I really want them, but I just can't do it, too many pairs!

What does everyone think about the "remastering" retros starting next year? It's going to be a crazy year again next year.

I haven't played ball since High School, I am a wood-pusher; I'll ask a few of my friends what they wear on the black top.

Those were an AJ Xs that fell apart, coincidence?

My friend just showed me a link about that last night. I did not read the blog but I told him: "if NIKE is making the materials better and charging a little more for the pair, I'd rather keep my OGs and just keep replacing the midsoles if it blows, LOL!" Anyway, my AJ 4s quality(particularly the 4 Retro + that were released in 1999/2000) I think has the best, better than any that came out these past three years. If the remastered is similar to or the same as my OG IV Oreos not like the currently used stiff material, then I may be inclined to a purchase.

But seriously, just as any Jordan shoes that came out this year, with the added PREMIUM label on the box it surely will not make the purchase easier for a common person just to get a pair. The resellers kills it even with the increased retail price tag; look at the recent AJ 3 '5LAB3' release that sold for $225. Even the 'B-Grade' shoes that ends up in the NIKE Outlet Stores get bought out. I could also imagine what a monumental task is involved to produce, store, and move 20,000 pairs of one particular shoe amongst the other pairs NIKE manufactures at one time.

Only if there's such a "rain-check" program... Or have a hook up in the Philippines, my buddy seem to always get a pair of AJs easily in NIKE Store there on every release. May be because he's a size 14 and the small sizes always make it out of the store.

I've heard that 10 year old Xs are great to ball in! haaha! I don't know how those NBA players do that, even in the new retros, unless they're modified somehow internally, I'd think their feet would hurt. I know they made Rasheed's AF1s with special insoles.

Those 3LAB5s were such a joke, I don't think they were cool enough to be $50 more than a normal retro.

Jordan Brand has done a really good job at building the hype, they have really smart people over there. Just when you think they are going to die down, they come up with something else and I want more!

I'm fine with the remasters as long as they're good quality, but they'll never be as good as they were in the 80s/90s. It seems like most retros pre 2006 were nice materials. Anything since has been hit and miss, and the last couple years has been pretty bad.

They surely have smart people... Have you heard of these three Ex-Employees NIKE is suing due to stolen NIKE limited products?

Dude in YouTube talks too much but it's the only vid' I know.

Well, surely the newer Jordan shoes will last longer. Their uppers are stiff and the midsoles are harder. My theory is that many collectors have complained of the toe box creasing and the midsole crumbling. NIKE took than into consideration and what do you wind up having?

I think it's pretty awesome that those guys got caught. I was always curious after the interview SC did with the Look See sunglasses guy and seeing how many samples he had, and after seeing how so many people end up with shoes that are supposed to be super limited. Even now, with so many people with the Oregon Duck Vs, etc.

You're probably right about the mid soles. I just wish the leather was better, and the Jordan III midsole paint didn't crack so much!

Interesting, is this different from the first sample of running shoes that Bill Boweman made for Steve Prefontaine that was dug up in someone's yard?

Edit: NVM... Completely different. But hell, that's a lot of collection!

So the first high end basketball shoe I got as a kid was the Air Max Penny 1 in white. Since then I've been a huge fan of the shoe, but never got around to picking up a pair later in life. The other day I picked up a pair off Ebay. They look good, but aren't nearly as comfy as the originals. (in my mind at least)

Just started balling recently in the Kobe VII's. Decided they weren't worth keeping as a collector and my main shoes crapped out on me. This sock gimmick works a lot better than I thought it would!

Kobes are the only thing I hoop in. They're great for me.
