Why is nobody making catted UEL headers except ft86speedfactory?
WHY!? Their lead time is ridiculous, and I get it. But why aren't there any others out there?

Just a guess, but probably because a catted UEL generates less power overall? Which probably means less interest from buyers. Plus I'd imagine most people with catted headers don't get a tune to preserve the warranty/emissions as much as possible. I went with a catless UEL and tune specifically because I wanted to make more use able power.

I don't too many people are worried about emissions and most would rather have one cat in the front pipe

Some places require the same amount of cats as factory, here they do a visual inspection to make sure you have whatever was put in place by the factory.

Sorry I guess I am just venting because I am getting a SC and tune in Aug and can't find a catted UEL before sept-oct if I order it today.. Lead times are excessive.

Fitting the OEM cat to this header would cost more but last for the lifetime of the vehicle and never throw a code. Expensive, yes. But if this will be a solution than it could be worth it in the long run.
If this could be made so the OEM cat could be welded on then I would go for it. |
