to me a FWD car doesn't feel like a sports car. and thats my opinion, feel free to disagreed.

I own FWD cars before. TL type S and stock vs stock, it doesnt come anywhere near to my to bimmer.

Well the definition of a "sports car" is one to be used for motorsports, so I just went to track use.

Which FWD cars have you driven? There are a TON of shitty FWD cars. The TL-S has insane torque steer. FWD being used for performance falls off with HP. There are no good high HP FWD cars for performance usage IMO.

My sig comment was about trading the BRZ for a Si, if you had read my signature you would have realized how stupid that statement was. I likely will be selling my BRZ (it's a garage queen at this point). Not sure what I'll replace it with.

I never said FWD cars could not be fast. I merely pointed out that IF the intent was to design a racecar the engineers would not pick FWD ad a starting point. Are you suggesting that the original intent of the Cadillac's chief designer was to build a racecar?
I was replying to your comment about starting a car for racing.

In the end, NO STREET CAR is designed with the *intention* of being a race car. There are homologation models to allow a setup to be used for racing but that's about the closest you get.

Purpose built race cars will always be designed to be the best, and there's no doubt that's RWD. However this topic is about (I assumed) street cars that one could consider a sports car. I do so by the feel and experience of the car and in that regard there are a ton of shitty RWD and FWD cars. And all AWD cars IMO (at least I haven't found one that I truly enjoyed driving yet).

The Acura TSX runs in a "sports car" named class. I didn't realize that's what mattered here.

The point is that FWD cars can be very fun to drive and can be quick. They can also provide great steering and chassis feel/feedback. So can RWD.

I pick my cars on the *experience* of driving them, not the drivetrain layout.

I've already said RWD is the best solution, it just doesn't invalidate the FWD can be done correctly also to provide an involving and exciting/fun driving experience.

Tada isn't just a CE, he was and probably still is the main marketer of these cars also. The Lexus LS is a RWD too but I wouldn't consider it a sports car Same with the old SC300s, it's even a coupe.. an extremely boring one.

ok, i never disagreed with that now did i? what i been saying is RWD in general is more fun and enjoyable. for example, FRS is wayyyyyyy funner to drive than the Si... I think everyone here would agreed with that.

um have i not also listed my experience with FWD? but nice try

never said the LS400 was a sports car... but I rather it be RWD than FWD like the RL at that time. A SC300 isn't so boring when you drop in a 2jzGTE in.

Even with a 2JZ and original Mini Cooper S is still more fun

The Si is a horrible example of FWD IMO (sorry for you Civic Si owners out there).

It's entirely possible that we just disagree on what makes a car fun. I like cars based on FEEL not the ability to do burnouts, drift and do donuts
