the Solo/ Solo DL is a small unit meant for basic data logging and GPS lap timing functions, easy removing/repositioning and cross platform use


the MXL is an advanced device meant to entirely replace your dashboard, it has its own speedo, tach, programmable shift point lights, lap data, track position, etc etc while also acting as a datalogger.




it's a really good solution for kit cars, you just plop that thing in front of your steering wheel and don't worry about any other gauges or whatever.


99% of street cars don't need but if you're balling, why not.

So you definitely get steering angle and brake pressure. As for body control stuff, there are fields for Vertical,Lateral, and Longitudinal acceleration from the car and from the GPS. The numbers from the car don't seem to make sense to me (they are usually 3-5g's, which is obviously incorrect) so I'm not sure they are incorrect or if these numbers are measuring something else. The number from the GPS Lat Acc seems correct though. Pulled 1.64g's on track this weekend running Hoosier R6's.

I believe u hv to calibrate all the vert, long, and lat sensors each time at the track for accuratr readings

meaning, if I reposition it within the car and or put it in another driver's car I should hit the calibrate button in the menu?

Yep, unless u put it back to the exact spot where it was calibrated

Yup.... although normally I do it while its connected to a laptop.

okay now I'm confused




basically at my autocrosses I shuffle the unit between different cars, should I be hitting the calibrate button in the unit for every car, or hooking it up to a laptop after I put it in their car and calibrating it through the laptop?
