The only difference is that if they do the install, it's free and warrantied by them.

Typically I would agree, but when it's already something I'm not worried about I don't really care what type of promise they give me.

VS the money saved ordering it online and, if you are financing the car, the interest on that amount over X years.

I'd rather just buy it later and spend the 5 minutes installing it. In fact, that's what I'm doing

They are dealer installed accessories so I don't see anything wrong with what his dealer said.

True. Are Subaru parts readily available on the web at worth while discounts? This will be my first Subaru.

I asked that same question awhile ago and some people responded that they were. I think Tranz may have said they were, I can't remember who it was for sure though.

The price may change. That's my point. I'd rather have it all upfront and locked rather than later and possibly high.

~300 USD for dimming mirror with homelink? Seriously? These are 140-200 new for Impreza on ebay. Accessories, thats what dealers makes a lot of money on. Makes sense to fight for a good deal, since I doubt anyone will get BRZ at bellow MSRP this year.

This is why I'm not worried about "locking in" a price right now. There's no point in waiting to see what the market does if I'm going to be the second person off the lot with one of the cars. Being an early adopter costs a little extra as you're the one setting the market initially.

I got mine at invoice and I'll get any additional accessories at invoice as well. I'm sure I can get an autodim mirror w/ homelink cheaper, but when you factor in the install, it's probably not a terrible deal. I also have a really bad habit of snapping dash clips and for some reason I always have more squeeks and rattles after I've done interior "mods" or electronics installations. So to have it done at the port is sounding like a good idea to me.

The catch will be timing.. I'm really hoping to have it by May 11th so I can take it to Carlisle PA for a big car show. If having port installed accessories delays my deliver and ruins my chances of having the car in time for that weekend, then I'll definitely skip it and do my own work.

I agree, but there is nothing wrong with saving on extras. Think of it as a 'car' plus 'others'. Car costs are relatively locked at this point, while 'others' can spike on fees, accessories, protection plans, etc, etc.

My recent 'accessories' budget on a car is at 1,500-2,000 - so its nice to possibly cut those in half and do some work on a car for the price difference. All it takes - a little diligence and negotiation.

Alright just got back from the dealer with actual numbers! Keep in mind Premium MT in the state of Texas.

MSRP: $25,495
Desitnation: $770
Tax (6.47%): $1,700
Doc Fees: $125
Title: $33
Registration/Plates/Misc: $85

Total OTD: $28,208

That's before any deposit or down payment is applied. The dealer also offered VIN etching for the windows which I think I'll pass on.

Tax may vary slightly depending on where you're located. In Texas the title will be $33 and the Registration/Plates/Misc shouldn't be any higher than the $85 I listed. Documentation fees aren't legally set to a maximum in the state, but the average for last year was $125 so shoot for that when you're getting your pricing but keep in mind the range for last year was $50-$150.

Nice! I wish our tax was that low. Over here it's pretty much 0.09%.

Something I just noticed; the Destination charge has gone from $750 in the Press Release to $770 in this "find". Can anyone determine the reason for this disparity?
