I went off topic so much the debate here is the GT86/FR-s/BRZ vs the Gen Coupe.
Yea, totally, I agree. We are all gear heads, love cars for the same reason and chose different cars for our own reasons. I chose the 3.8 GC for a Grand Touring car. With all the bells and whistles for what i think is a great price. If/When i get more $, maybe Ill get an 86' as a track toy for my Sebring racedays, or sell the 3.8, not buy an 86 and get an BMW M4. Again, IMO, all great cars i listed very good at certain stuff.

Oh, man, yea, i remember that piece of work. 10 years changes quite a bit. But for 2014, close to 2015 204 HP from a V6? C'mon....really?

Correct. It's been the exact same with minor tweaks. Toyota had talks of trashing the motor because it's so bad. I bet the only reason they haven't is because the car is selling like hotcakes.

Don't even think of looking at the 3.8l GM v6 if that shocks you.

200-ish hp and about that in torque from nearly 4l of displacement? LOL. Pathetic.

How so? Apparently the AWD S60 gets to 60mph in 6.6secs. I don't recall any generation IS350 ever taking that long.

Car and Driver came to the same conclusion. Where do you think the S60 fits into this mix? Are you sure the chemicals in your leather dye aren't getting to your head?

Maybe he meant the 250. Its 0-20 was close to 8 seconds if I recall.

There's a new 3.8 genesis and a FRS sitting in my garage right now (my house-mate's genesis and my FRS). We had this argument plenty of times and honestly the cars are pretty radically different. Yes it is fast in a straight line but as many have said it is pretty fat in terms of handling. The steering also feels like shit in comparison and I heard the 6MT version has MANY issues while the 8AT to me has way too many gears that it becomes pretty annoying. It really is a touring car more than a sports car.

Also if it means anything their forum is sadly inactive compared to the ft86club. People who buy the twins are more likely to be car enthusiasts. Here in SoCal we all wave at each other and my friend with the genesis tells me he would never do that to his genesis brotherens. Reason I bring up this point is it is a reflection on the cars themselves.

Gencoupe.com gets probably 10% off the traffic here. Same with s2ki.com. Which is why I'm in here a lot lol
