Sorry, I deleted it because I didn't want to put up with defending it.

Point being, plenty of racecars have been based off FWD platforms with poor to moderate to dominant levels of success.

My favorite being the Mini rally car that won a Monte Carlo Rally and would've won second if it wasn't disqualified for some shenanigans about the lights used if I remember correctly. Along with several touring and GT class cars, FWD is a perfectly viable sporting platform, just because it isn't top level FIA sanctioned doesn't mean it isn't racing.

Well then, by this definition, pretty much nothing on the road today is a sports car (including the FRS/BRZ).

I can put it another way:
I am going racing this weekend with all kinds of cars from TR4s to LOLA-P6s.

There will be close to 200 vintage and full blown "race cars" there.
How many FWD???

ZERO

your data is skewed because there wasn't many FWD around then. I also find it hard to believe that out of 200 classic race cars there wouldn't be a mini or fulvia running around

In all fairness there is one mini that is damn fast, but it rarely shows up to our vintage races.

Those Saturn SC2s maybe? Only 2 doors and sporty ish...

They were a 2+2 seating arrangement like the twins.

When I was younger I wanted one of the Saturns really bad...

Isn't a SMART care RWD? Does that make it a Sports Car?

Also the Mercury Capri...Convertible and FWD and 2 Seater...I thought they looked great at the time.
