If I could have waited a year with my old car I'd probably be in a 2015 WRX right now. You can tell Subaru learned a lot from the 86 and put that knowledge to use into the WRX.

OP, test drive them and see which you like. You're the only one who knows what you like.

Well looks like I'm your guy, i traded in my 14 brz for a 15 sti a couple days ago, and I have to tell you it really differs on your preference. If you want the ultimate connection to the car and to the road, want rwd, want something small, light weight and tossible, get the BRZ. The sti is, compared to what I've owned, very fast. It's very quick, and now handles amazingly, ALMOST on par with the BRZ, but I don't have enough time yet in my STI to say for sure. It's more practical, gets more looks (also from cops lol), has a lot of power/is faster, but lacks the raw feeling of driving the brz. BRZ is such a drivers car, while the STI still is, but not on the BRZ level.

Clearly I picked the new STI over the BRZ, so maybe i'm biased, but I am in love with my STI, not to say I don't miss the BRZ, I LOVED it, but this STI really is the best one yet. You need to test them to see yourself though.

BRZ test drive should be easy. The STI/WRX on the other hand is much harder to come by and thus unless your serious about buying, they are not letting ppl test drive them right now. I really want to try the 15 WRX.

If I had a family or only could have one vehicle sure a 4 door car would be practical. But to me a sports car is a 2 door and while there is much good in the WRX and STI they're ugly as sin to look at but hey, each to own.

All the reviews I have seen and read says the new sti handling is superb. A bigger rear say bar and it will handle like a boss. I need to test drive a pro tuned brz with intake and full exhaust. I hear it is a different beast. 200 rwhp is no slouch.

I rather buy a sti if I went fi. I just personally think that adding fi to the brz will ruin it. Again that is just my opinion. The brz reminds me of the golden age of the automotive industry when the big named car makers like ferrrari and porsches weren't even near the 300hp Mark in there all motor road going vehicles.

Had a chance to test drive the WRX a few days ago. They wouldn't let me test drive the STI, understandably.

A few things I immediately noticed when driving the WRX. The ride height and seating position was a little awkward at first, otherwise it was quite comfy but not as bolstered at the BRZ. I'm spoiled by the perfect seats in the BRZ. The steering wheel in the WRX was pure sex as far as feel and thickness goes. I wish I had that exact steering wheel in the BRZ. My understanding is that the steering feels much heavier in the STI.

Although the steering felt numb compared to the BRZ, it had that mid-range punch that I've been CRAVING for in the BRZ. They literally need to take that engine and place that into the twins and call it a day. That'll seriously shut up all the critics.

Overall, great car, but apples to oranges. I placed an order on a '15 STI, so I'll give more impressions when I get it. I love my BRZ too much to have to give it up. Lucky for me though, my fiancé will take over my car. Best of both worlds right? Lol

Out of all the Impreza's I've driven, 1st generation (GC) is still the most enjoyable for me.

Maybe I'll take it out of your hands.

I do agree the new STi is very good car. I guess I just have a bias towards the GC8 because it's one of the cars I grew up admiring so much. For the technology back then those specs aren't bad at all for a stock car.

I don't know what your intended use is for the car but you might want to figure that out before you pick a car. You're kinda saying; "I don't know if i wanna get this miata or the new ford f250 super duty"

two different animals two different purposes.... and to clear it up ... the STI does NOT compare to the brz in handling... no way shape or form... if they seem comparable to you then you are not driving the cars near the limit and should just buy a camry
