Even on the stock tune, you're making more power to the wheels in 1st at redline than you are in 2nd after the shift, even if the engine is producing more power at that RPM point than at redline.

You have to factor in the torque multiplication factor of the gearbox when looking at this.

It comes with off-the-shelf maps loaded in it, and you can download other maps through the OF Manager. Unless you're running E85 or some exotic FI setup, then the 91/93 stage 1 and stage 2 maps that are preloaded are sufficient.

I do notice that you have a 2013, do you know when it was manufactured?

Still cannot write after reading. You have to be kidding me. How do I add maps using OpenFlash Manager 1.08.3? I got one of the first FRS's made probably. Would that make a difference?

I'd be more concerned about why the OFT can't write to your ECU. I know certain OEM ROMs were giving the OFT problems, but that was a while ago. Since you have a '13, it may be possible that you have one of those ROMs. The main thread has more information about that, but it's 1800 posts long, so you'll have to dig through it.
@shiv@vishnu, does that sound familiar at all? It's been a while since I read the whole thread, so I may be remembering incorrectly.

If I could just figure out how to upload new roms to it, I would be comfortable knowing that my car is actually incompatible. lol
I would rather not dig through 1800 posts to find out...

What does auto recovery do in ecutek other than recover from not being able to read the embedded licence info in rom. As i understand it most flashes involve erasing entire rom then writing, except for brzedit which can do partial writes as well as its seed key changes ect.. But if your not looking for licence or locks or seed key changes you should be able to just erase the failed flash and write again .

Assuming you have not clobbered the oem boot loader area which you shouldn,t be wtiting to anyway
I have no idea what auto recovery 'does' aside from that when the obd2 flakes during a flash, or a flash fails for any other reason, it makes it work again. I'm happy to be abstracted away from actually knowing or caring what's going on behind the scenes. It just works.

Ecuflash replaces the boot loader on the ecu does it not? Last I had read on the topic Colby was working on a new one for the 86. Not sure if it's come to fruition yet, but iirc that was the plan.

Going by the log screen it still using oem boot loader, and yes was some talk of colby doing his own for some reason but nothing out yet, had everal fails and it just erases the bad flash and writes new one no dramas yet, touch wood the obd ports are sus on these cars

The new version seems more robust as they appear to have slowed the write speed a bit takes about 90 Sec before was about 70 sec

I had a similar problem, one I don't think Shiv has seen often. I THINK (barely) that it was related to a Microsoft C++ install. My tablet worked as advertised up until it came time to flash the Stage 1 tune. The flash failed, but luckily I was able to re-flash the stock tune that the tablet read from the car.

Long story short, the tablet was dead to me, and I was a little grumpy. I tried again one day, re-installed Windows 7, nothing else. Installed the latest Open Flash Manager, let it do it's install thing, waited, waited some more while C++ was installed, rebooted. Plugged in the tablet, viola! It works!

Thank you everyone for your input, even the ramblers. lol The problem all along was that the tablet had no maps, or at least no compatible maps, for my car to write. I downloaded the off the shelf maps and uploaded a few I wanted to the tablet, then plugged it into my car, it actually allowed me to select "write", and it worked great. I would have tried this from the beginning had there been the correct 1.08(not 1.06) OFM download on their website. So the question now is, why were there no compatible maps on my OFT when it was delivered to me both times?
