The drift cars are a different story. They need power now, not next year. So there's no option but a swap.
Great post! I suppose its unlogical for me to expect so much from the FA20 this early in the game. Anxious more than anything, the reason i want it is for tuning capability and were hardly getting any feedback on the FA20 (besides HKS). Time will tell.

What does it cost to have all that done? Must be expensive. Around $600?

^ and you are basically giving away a perfectly good FA20 that you just paid MSRP for. Wonder how much credit you would get for it? $500.

But its still probably in developmental stages, and it doesnt make neck snapping power compared to a swap.

It's on the development, so we can't state that it does or it doesn't. NOB is expecting/looking around 500~600whp out from his GT86

wrong direction

These engine swaps for more power just confuse me. Every one praises the car for its great handling, mainly due to the low COG and minimal body roll. Seems to me that taking the engine out that the car was designed around is just going the opposite way. I am all for bumping up the output, but I would be much more interested in doing it with the original engine.

I totally agree with you. they are just messing the balance of the car. I guess since they havent done much R&D on the motor. they went with a swap where theyre sure they will get he power they need.

I would be wary of a kit that's been rushed out the door like this.

The reason they are doing swaps right now is that there isnt enough time to do R&D/Testing on modified versions of the new engine. Its not even available yet to most of the public... Wait a year and there will be dozens of turbo kits available assuming there is a way to tune it on the stock ECU.
