Nope. I probably would if it was free and I had nothing better to do, but not really going to be a lot of fun in this car.

This thread has really got me wanting to run my FRS now to see what kind of time I can get.

I'm just worried about breaking something because I shift like a mad man when I'm drag racing

No point in taking the frs. Too slow and really wasn't intended to be a drag raced. But ona racing circuit, that's where this car shines.

Once I go turbo I plan too. I like all kinds of racing : drag, auto-x, ect. I have had a little fun in the straight lines with a few cars on the streets that should have beat me but surprisingly I have taken down a few decently fast cars in my stock 6spd. frs. I do agree the car is so fun to just drive and corner rather than straight but I think once boosted and making 400+whp these cars are animals in the straight line! This will probably throw off the handling do to the power in the turns. I have a mk3 supra that had 400+whp last outing and I am now building a 2jz for 800whp so I know what its like to go from a fast car to a car with not so much power haha. I will say though I have more fun overall in my frs than the supra. No matter how many people dog on it for being under-powered I am still very impressed with the car and am glad I got one.

Neither were Honda Civics originally and now they just had one trap over 200mph.

I think drag racing can be fun in just about any car. If you go on a no competition night you see everything from snowmobiles to minivans racing.

Sure you can take anything you want. I just don't feel it's worth taking my frs only to run 14.9's. If turbo, for sure!

Give me a FRS and a worked LS engine and I'll show you a quarter mile monster.

I hear ya.

My Neon (which hasn't been to the track in a few years) will run mid to high 11's on slicks on its current set up. It's a decently quick car, nothing crazy. But then I have to worry about breaking stuff, tire pressure, meth blends and tuning, etc.

As where I feel like it would be fun to take my basically stock FRS and just rip it down the track, have some fun, and not have to worry about anything for the most part.

That's just my view on it. I'm obviously not try to be competitive or run any record times with this car.

I've done my share of drag racing and I try to get out a couple of times a year in this car, just to see if I've made any improvements and to test different techniques. I do have plans to turbo my FRS and drag race a little more (2700lbs, and RWD are quite enticing for straight line stuff if you can hook, especially when current muscle cars are 3800-4200lbs). I haven't gone since last April or so, and the local track is only 1000', but with a drop in air filter, muffler delete, rear subframe bushings, rear LCA's and springs I ran numerous 12.3-12.4x and the PB for this car of...

60' 2.2
330' 6.17
1/8th 9.49@74
1k' 12.14@86

Nothing blistering or amazingly fast, but "they say" add 2 seconds to your 1k and that will estimate your 1/4 time, which I don't necessarily hold as true. At this stock power level, you're right at the end of 3rd and into 4th with the manual across the 1k, so you're essentially coasting across too. I've added a few more suspension mods, and honed my technique, so I plan to knock a tenth or two off next time. Definitely a far cry from what I am used to, and pretty darn slow really but you have to start somewhere. My SRT4 ran 12.26 stock... and my stock Charger SRT8 ran 11.05 for comparisons. I got the SRT4 down to 11.14 and the Charger down to 10.05 without drag radials or slicks on either.
