That's not changing engine response, that's just TC doing it's job... it's not done through brakes, it's done by limiting throttle input (yay drive by wire). Sport mode does give higher thresholds for slip (both forward and lateral) before intervening, but doesn't change the mapping or response with good grip.

Thanks everyone for your input. @Reaper, if your tuner could clarify whether there is a difference with the OEM map, that'd be great.

I doubt its a difference in the map but oddly enough after the turbo and tune when I spin the tires with traction control off it snaps the throttle plate shut, which feels just like my failsafe. With traction control on it just flashes the light at me. The cars going back for a different reason but I'm curious about its affects.

There are different drive by wire throttle maps for normal and sport mode. And yes, the throttle/engine mapping is different between the two from the factory.

Documentation source? You're the first person I've read claim that.

Are you claiming that the sport button (or disabling TC/VSC entirely) changes the engine response?
With the latest Ecutek RaceRom, you can turn different maps on/off depending if VSC/TC are turned on or off, basucally you can activate or deactivate any custom map based on VSC/TC on/off state.

That's a great feature! How new is it, I know it wasn't in the features last time I looked in depth, BUT that was a while ago.

From memory i think some of the earlier romraider or tunepro definitions had some of the throttle and ignition maps labled as normal and sport, thes appear to have now been relabled normal and safe or A and B which is likely what they are normal and safe limp home mode maps. . Their are also some refences to sport and SI drive in the defs but suspect this is hangover from legacys or something.

Would be nice if it was in fact true as you could maybe map these to 91and 93 octane maps but i suspect its not unfortunatly

It's in the standard maps available in BRZEdit and Romraider.

Read the posts above, they're not actually doing what the map name makes it sound like they're doing.

I'd like to see evidence of that. Rather than assumptions based on a table name change. It's easy to test. Just make one map really aggressive.
