+1!
Random thoughts.... Very happy with Firestorm in person. Looks much better than photos. Auto in manual mode is great! Quick shifts/rev matching both directions. Right paddle is up left is down. Seats were excellent to sit in. Handling is very precise. Radio has great sound still not pretty. Rear fog light has punchout for bulb. Jack confirmed cars being built now. delivery in May. We had one last chance to confirm/change colors. Stayed with Firestorm auto. Some pearl white converts I hear. I'm sure others will post more. Keeping us busy. Off to qualifier for a bit before dinner.

I got to drive both the manual and auto. Woot! Auto shifts quick and very smooth. Paddles are fun but doesn't compare to the feel of the manual.
We got to drive around 3 large city blocks. Some people were chirping tires. They also let us drive the iQ. Neat. Was fun being in the Toyota museum. There was a brand spankin new 93 Supra in there. So yeah...it's just as bad ass as all the other reviews have mentioned. |

no free bespoke, option cost is about 850. Stock sound system is AWESOME!
Re: Price: Scion didnt know subaru's price upon unveiling, no changes to price given subie's price, with scion you get more aggressive body, lighter weight. Also, confirmed that the 1000 rebate for new college grads and 1000 for military are available on FRS. TRD is working on an air intake kit and theres a catback available- both of these were prototype models on a car we all got to see and they sound AWESOME ![]() It's SO fun to drive, i didnt hear any complaints, anyone not like it? There are a LOT of people with DAMN NICE cameras taking pictures, i think the hotel internet is shit thats why its taking a while to upload :P heres a preview LFA that they pulled out for us:

FYI on pure pricing- Dealers are NOT obligated to do anything. That's from the horses mouth. I talked at length during the bus ride with the scion dealership overseer guy (forgot his exact title) but he said the SUGGESTED retail price is just that. They expect the dealers to and strongly want them to stick to MSRP, but ultimately, even for first 86, they arent obligated to anything, and yes, they can sell for UNDER MSRP too (eventually when demand goes down).
He said that we should talk directly to dealers and get things straightened out with them. Also saw the fiveaxis kit :P |

long beach so far for me
The car drives great.. A bit low in the torque below 4k but no surprise there. I only drove the manual and it seemed like the gearing was a bit short but not bad. The steering, driving position, and visibility out the back was superb. No issues whatsoever with headroom and I have a long torso. It was great to see most colors in real life. I ended up switching my order to silver as its very nice. Guess I need a new name on this forum. They had an IQ there in hot lava but I prefer the silver. They answered lots of questions and handed out some scion racing shirts. The Lexus lfa sounded sweet and so did the frs.

on trd options
Also, talked quite a while with the woman handling trd options for scion. She said they were still debating what they were going to do for door stabilizers. She says the ones from Japan are too heavy so they may come up with something different. Didn't make much sense to me. She also said the new intake improved hp about 5hp without affecting mileage. They will be coming out with lowering springs (not adjustable) in addition to adjustable a couple months after first ship. Lowers the back by about 1.5" and front by 1". The black one in the museum had the new springs and it looked good. Someone may be able to post pics.

We only got 2-3min w/ the car out on public roads, so the test drive was more of a tease than anything. Still it felt very nice, and I love the extra visibility gained by door-mounting the side mirrors.
I'm one of the Whiteout converts. Like most others, I believed it would be a flat white, but it's pearlescent. The guy said it would be approx $200-$250 upcharge,so it's not too bad. I'd originally chosen Asphalt, and it looks sparkle-tastic w/ it's metal flake. The other cars had very, very subtle metal flake. One cool surprise at the Scion VIP area at Formula Drift was a chop-top FR-S. Unfortunately, I don't have a computer w/ me, so I can't upload photos. |

I took the opportunity to jump in the back seat of the FR-S. Your feet will definitely be pinned down under the front seats, but otherwise there's a comfortable amount of knee and head room. Back seat of iQ also not terrible.
