its $71k starting

the M3 is a sedan, but the M4 is more comparable. it may have a lower starting price. but that is for a base stripped model. once you start adding things the price tag will be closer to $70k-$80k.

i havent brought a Mercedes, but they probably do the same as BMW.

Audi is the only Germany automaker that I was told that didn't list their cars with a low MSRP for the base / stripped model.

I just went to build an M4 out of curiosity. It states like 62k or 64k base (already forgot) but when you hit build it starts you out with the manumatic selected, as well as a 3.5k leather interior option already selected. Plus all the fees, before you even click anything it starts you off over 70k. I changed some options and finished modestly for 84k.

I'd only buy an Audi if I could sell it before the warranty was up.

I went ahead and built a C63 AMG coupe to my specifications to see how it would be. They're actually pretty impressively equipped from the factory, and the options are truly options. Like, I don't need active parking assist or a hard line media interface, so I don't need to pay for them. I did choose some options, like the nicer leather interior (~$2.6K), upgraded HIDs with active corner illumination and a few other things ($1.3K), the upgraded media option with touchscreen, nav, voice control, rearview camera, etc... (~$2.8K), and the 5 year maintenance plan ($2.5K).

All told, I got a very very nicely equipped C63 AMG for $74K when the base is $62K. Which is only a hair more than the base RC-F and less than the carbon RC-F. And it looks nicer. I'd have been fine with the base C63 AMG, but I figured let's go ahead and get all the shiny bits.

Been researching this car and absorbing any new tidbit of info that comes out. You could say I'm infatuated lol.

This car will be in dealerships in late fall, and my FR-S lease will be up next June. I'm having an extremely tough time deciding what to do. I definitely want the Lexus more, but I'll be looking at a price tag comparison of about 50k to 17k. As much as I'd like to say money isn't a thing, it is lol.

I'd love to keep the FR-S and get the RC F-Sport a little later, but I really don't see the point of having two coupes. I love the IS too but I don't know. I need to hit the lottery.

I have nothing against the car, in fact like it a lot. But what we know if it is, they don't have a manual trans, its going to be at least 70k, and in that price range there are some very very proven sports cars.

When I am talking used I mean 2013 Z06 with 2k miles for 70k, not some 5 year old car with 20k miles.

Cayman S same story 63k for 2k miles 2014. Both with manual trans loaded. Even found some certified with less than 200 miles for 70k$.

Your example of Exige, Elise, Cayman is off because you cant get anyone of those barely used/new with warranty for anywhere close to 25k.

I have heard nothing but complaining and whining in terms of maintenance from all my friends who own BMWs. That's also why they say they avoid them like the plague unless they buy brand new because that maintenance package saves your life. Outside of that I wouldn't touch a BMW.

The rear of the car looks great for sure. Can't wait to see the car in person. Solely up to you if you want to purchase it or not. If I had a disposable income I would add it to my car collection.

I didnt know what you mean.

anyways, yes you dont get a manual tranny but the RC-F will have more standard HP than both the M4 and C63 AMG. not to mention it will most likely have a longer life cycle than the Germans. those cars are very costly to maintain and break down all the time. i should know, i have a E60 M5.

but ok than can't your argument be used with the M4, SR5, and C63 AMG? the OP is looking for a new car. not everyone will crosshop between used and new.

yup, alot of people on here probably never brought a new BMW before.

the MSRP on the website is very deceiving. i paid like $15k or for my M5 than the website had it for.

Audis are sooo bland looking...

ok, go to a MB dealer. see how many C63 AMG you are going for find for $62,750. they are going for $70k-$90k.

thats my whole point. well equipped C63 AMG and RC-F are pretty close.
