That's just it, we aren't two groups. This is the Japanese equivalent of the f-body (Camaro/Firebird). On domestic performance forums the cars are nearly interchangeable. The FR-S and BRZ are the same way.

If anything, it's Us vs the Genesis Coupe, or Us vs the Hot Hatches, or Us vs the Miata.

By group I just meant "group of people buying x or y" not that we shouldn't consider the two the same car.

I'm thinking that might be another reason they went with Scion. Subaru might have seen an even heightened level of competition if the car was going to be a Toyota world-wide. I think they know that many people won't go for it simply because it has a Scion badge, just like I wouldn't buy anything with a Hyundai, Kia, or Subaru badge. It's completely irrational but brand connotation effects a lot of people's decisions.

Also, keep in mind that Toyota does a LOT of business. We may find their cars boring and uninspired, but they sell, and they sell well. So Toyota of America might not have wanted to risk breaking something that works so well. Quirky cars go under the Scion badge, while the safe bets stay under the Toyota badge.

LOL. 36k OTD here bucko with some options. You're also spreading FUD like no tomorrow. Understeer like no tomorrow? Yeah OK. That's why many people said it was the best handling AWD car released, until the GT-R, and surely the new 911 Turbo AWD. Even though there wasn't a proper shoot out yet, I'm going to say i'm pretty safe to say that it'll slaughter this "pure sporty car" that is the 86. Know your limitations and boundaries. Don't turn this into Clubsi, SRT4 forums, and other nonsense.

Someone's a fanboy, and it's not me.

Is it really? Not to take anything away from the great work (and parts) they've contributed to this car, but think of all Subarus past and explain how you can boldly make this claim.

I bought my Kia as I saw it as the only thing that resembled the Civics I grew up enjoying. I must say, not a bad little car by any means! If you'd told me I'd be buying a Kia 10 years ago I'd probably spit in your face and flung my poo like a monkey.

Not sure what you're disputing... Should I call previous Subarus Nissans since they held stake in FHI at one time? Not discounting what Toyota contributed but I do see Subaru as the majority owner of the car. All that aside I'm just excited this car exist!

Main problem in buying a Scion here is the lack of dealerships. I don't mind going a few hours to buy a vehicle but what if something goes wrong. I don't want to be responsible for hauling this thing a few hours to get work done.

Ok I saw this exchange on Car and Drive in the comments on the price announcement thread. I thought it was funny and had to share.

ZBL "Wow. Hard to believe all the complaints about hp per dollar I see on here. I guess the Lotus Elise is the worst, most overpriced car of all time."

Jay S. "I could have sworn it's the Acura NSX. $95,000 for 270hp?"

ZBL "Ah yes, another terrible car. Nothing but complaints from everyone who drove it. In fact, I recall many people saying that it was a huge waste of money when a Ram Air Firebird could be purchased for 1/3 the price."

Anyone get an updated shipping fee from their dealer? I just finalized my sales order with my dealer.

They say Subaru is charging $770.00 for shipping???

My dealer charges $249.00 for a doc fee, trying to negotiate that down to no more than $100.00. Since I'm asking that they not fully detail my car prior to delivery they can recoup some of that and that since I'm paying MSRP its just an additional markup.

Never mind. I'd rather not take the thread OT again.
