Just got the FR-S
First off I have read all the posts on this thread and alot of good information.
It appears the Series 10 FR-S has the newer head unit PT546-00140 It looks like the identical one that shows in Mandy's video. GPS would be nice but I really want the text message feature enabled. Currently I can make phone calls & listen to Pandora via BluTooth What part numbers are needed to add the text message functionality ? GPS functionality? Also in the big PDF file from the Scion website it shows a this HU being controlled with a steering wheel button panel. I wonder if there are parts that can be scavenged from other toyotas to get the steering wheel buttons. BTW nice Forum and I will be making good use of it. Thanks |

The head unit is the same across all scions for 2014. You're answer is right there in the middle of the left column.
"Steering switches are not equipped on FR-S." |

yes but
I did see that.. Since it referred to the car it would lead me to believe that the Head Unit was designed with the ability to be controlled remotely by steering wheel switches. I suspect some other model cars may use this unit & they might employ this very useful feature. (How could Toyota look at the diagram and think "steering wheel buttons Who would want or expect them in our top model)

Hey guys, I've been searching around but have not found a concrete answer so I hope someone can help me here.
I have a 2014 MG with the BeSpoke premium audio/nav with AHA which is extremely limiting (no Pandora, what on earth). Can I flash the system with this update (http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/32...load-link.html) or is the BeSpoke and Entune two totally different system? (I don't want to brick it haha... |

The system will not allow you to flash engine firmware into a bespoke unit.

Edit: Scratch that... Started to drive and it kicked in and works perfect now lol
So I got the upgraded radio from a friend and I purchased the GPS antenna in the link on the first post and it did not fit properly. I shaved down the plastic a little so it would slide in because the connecter on the inside looks the same and it fit in fine but the GPS isn't working. Any ideas? Did they change the antenna since you bought from that link? Last edited by STV3; 05-27-2014 at 08:15 PM. |

I can vouch for this thread.. This was Soooo easy to install. You can find the Entune module on Ebay I got mine with the brackets & wiring harness for about $300 and found a Scion GPS antenna for $16 .
Pop off the surround for the head unit, remove cover above the instrument cluster (one screw in center easy), remove 4 bolts, slide out unit, disconnect modular plugs, bolt on Entune module, reconnect plugs, attach GPS antenna.. Reconnect battery cable under hood. Voila.. Gps and internet apps, phone and text messages all in your center console. YES IT REALLY IS THAT EASY ! |

Also anyone notice that the radio reception is worse with this newer head unit?

All I can say is the one GPS antenna I ordered clicked in and locked in place perfectly. The connector is a square inside a square opening.

Re the reception, make sure you don't connect the USB in the wrong connector. That cable now connects to the module and not the head unit. Also the bluetooth connector from the module connects to the head unit.
