Another question before I get the install done. From one I can tell in the estimate and talking to them, they are changing my oil and refilling with Brad Penn 15w-40. Any comments on this? Brad Penn has a disclaimer for possible damage to catalytic converters from the zinc and phosphorus additives. If not a good choice, any other suggestions?

What?!

Was it the rotrex oil or engine oil from the cooler?

Hope you get everything squared away!

MPG?

What MPG are people seeing? I have the jackson kit with Moto-east tune and am getting 16mpg on highway, 12 mpg combined city/highway , and worse of all 8 mpg at the track! Moto-east claims this is normal.

PS: On saturday at the track I had to fill-up after every two 25 minute sessions..

Jackson Racing Supercharger Owners Thread

I'm averaging around 28-30 mpg (mainly freeway commuting to work) on the CARB Tune...

23-28 mpg highway, dependent on amount of lead in foot. Around 6.5 mpg on track. Update 7/14: Car was recently re-tuned by Mike at Moto-East, much better power delivery now, will update mileage after more street and track driving.

If you plan to tune with OFT, you have to stick to OFT to utilize the tune. If you plan to change to EcuTek, you will need to tune it with EcuTek. Per OFT's website:

Will the OpenFlash Tablet work on a vehicles with a pre-existing Ecutek tune?
We do no recommend trying to read and edit an Ecutek tuned ECU with OpenFlash Tablet. Instead, we suggest flashing your ECU back to 100% stock configuration using the Ecutek programming cable and the proceeding as normal. There is no longer any need for the Ecutek cable or license.

Well our cars still run just fine without fail so CA 91 octane isn't so bad... There are other people who are concerned that they aren't getting the right tune or what not.
