I'm 6th on their order list. This particular dealership has only been allocated 9 for the year.

OH!, I almost forgot!, I got to test drive the demo BRZ they had! No lie! On the streets and through back roads, sales rep went with me. None of that parking lot only stuff! Coming for a BMW, i was really impressed with the BRZ steering and the engine growled nicely while climbing the gears into the 5k to 7k range! Sexy Beast are the only words that come to mind! Also, the car looks so much better in person!

The dealership is Farrish Subaru of Fairfax VA. Ask for Jackie Coogan! Great guy! The demo car will be there until Saturday. Pic of Demo Car below. (w/jersey Plates...)

Woot, Woot!,

Seeing as you're coming from Richmond,You may want to call first. Looks like another guy called later today and the dealership said no to his request for a test drive.

Thanks for the info. I'll be in Fairfax on Monday. I'm excited to drive one but I can't wait for them to be out and abundant. I have a feeling the idiots that work for dealerships are going to act like this is a Ferrari or something.

Maybe Jackie didn't know they weren't supposed to give out test drives yet...

C'mon man, not everyone working in sales is an idiot... So much hatin' goin' on! (OK, many of them are idiots, but still) I hope the rep(s) you deal with are extremely pleasant and helpful, and make you take back what you said. I hope.

Actually, I know why they were allowing test drives and it was authorized but I can't go into detail, and I don't want to turn this into an issue for the dealership.
They were nice and professional with me and I gave them my purchase so I don't want to ruin that rapport. Hum...maybe I already did...damn it! Stupid Mango..

Excellent write up. Nice to hear such passionate story from a real end user, not an auto journo. Looking forward to test drive one myself

Very interesting. I called Farrish a couple weeks ago and was told they weren't allotted any BRZs. I guess the sales manager I talked to was misinformed.....

They may have not known at that time. They may have just got confirmation on their allocation... Just my guess.

You might want to check with Stolhmans of Tyson's Corner, they are getting 13 cars. Not sure how many preorders they already have though... Please don't ask me how I know this...

I know when I was at Stolhmans two days ago to see the BRZ they have, there was someone else there looking at it who said he put his deposit down two weeks ago. #21 on their list.

Yeah I know, the only good people I've dealt with worked at higher end dealerships. Have always had great experiences with Porsche dealerships and when I took at a used car from a Aston Martin/Land Rover dealer (It was a Porsche). Every time I go into look at a car that is affordable I get talked to like I've never owned a car and of course they want to come ride with me and tell me their life story. I have found greater success in sales people leaving you alone when working with an internet manager. They tend to work with a lot more volume and most of their transactions are based on price so the relationships aren't that important.

Sorry, I know not everyone working auto sales is an idiot, but at the end of the day this is a $25k car. I know there's a supply squeeze but get over it.

Mango, good meeting you today. Glad to be able to chat with you about the car.

The pictures don't do it justice.

I think I'm pretty much sold on it now. I wont be seriously looking to buy one until the fall. Let me know when yours comes in. I assume you're into cruising out in Shenandoah.
