If your car was any other color, you would be able to see all the swirl marks that washing your this way causes. I would suggest looking up a few videos on proper car wash technique. Just trying to help out.

Eek. You need 2 buckets bro. I made that mistake on my Raven until recently discovering the proper wash technique. Granted I did not wash the car for the first few months of ownership. Just used the car detail spray and microfiber cloth. Then I found out I was using a shitty microfiber cloth. 2 bucket method, good microfiber cloth to clean and dry, plus different cloths to use on paint versus wheels and areas closer to the road. SWP/Whiteout are the best colors in terms of showing swirls. Just be a little lighter on the pressure. Just simply sliding the cloth across the surface is sufficient. Otherwise you are dragging particles across the clear coat. Best learn it now then never. SWP/Whiteout are my favorite colors. I would change if I could do it all over again.
Now I have to do the whole polish using a DA PC to remove most of the swirls (granted they are mild). The dealership screws the paint up from the get go. So a good polish is recommended anyway. Cheers! |

Title says car wash. All I see is someone dragging dirt back and worth with a towel.
![]() In all seriousness, the first couple of times I've ever washed a car, that's what I did, too. Until it dried and I saw dirt and swirls all over the place.
