As far as the Scion maintenance thing goes, it means nothing to me because I want to take care of it myself and will be using my own top quality parts/oils. Also, tire rotations are free when you buy tires from just about anywhere. I've even gotten it done for free even without buying tires or anything from shops before.

I fully agree with you here considering the performance it's lacking and gas it sucks up.... Very disappointed

If you are looking at cheap PnP kits, yes it will be around $150.

For a quality retrofit, you are looking at $300+ for just a kit not including labor.

SHIT!!!! I thought this thread was about the BRZ pricing, but it seems it has been nothing but butthurt people unhappy with their purchases. IMHO, the Scion is marketed for little kids (interior) and serious AutoXers (saving $$$). The BRZ is marketed for adults (interior) who want a sporty DD for a decent price, again, just my OPINION. In the END...IT'S THE SAME FUCKING CAR...one thing is clear, they both have a boxer engine...you're welcome SCION!

Edit: I almost forgot! The price is not as good as I wanted but not as bad as I thought it would be, given all the hype.

That said, I originally was thinking of the FR-S since it looked like it would be the lighter car (it is) and I liked the look in pictures better. I didn't care that it had Scion badges on it, because I knew that under the skin it would have the engineering and quality that I expect from Subaru.

Now since then, I've seen the two in person and found the FR-S front end lacking, and the BRZ better looking. I've also come to my senses and realized that, hey, I'm buying this for a DD and not as a points-contender for AutoX, so the extra options (heated seats FTW) are something I want.

So I have an order in for a Limited BRZ.

I don't care that much about badges, just the car they're stuck to. I have 3 Subarus because for each one, a Subaru met my criteria. ..as the BRZ does now.

I too ordered the Limited BRZ knowing that I wanted the extras (I'm old) and I too have multiple Subarus and I AM PROUD OF MY BOXERS. Call me a FANBOI, fuck it, I think they are better cars than scions.

I know dealers tend to honor them more to if you have all of your scheduled maintenance at a dealer.Plus one of my friends is a salesmen at the Toyota and I rather him make a commission, than some random guy at the closest Subaru dealer a few cities over.
Like others may have talked about. Ill just use my nav on my droid.
And decent HID kits cost about 150$ if you like HID's.
I would like a push start, but I don’t think it is a treat worth even spending a penny towards.

As for branding goes it's like whatevs to me. In some ways it's a bastard anyhow. I wonder if people hated it when Toyota started selling cars as Lexus in Japan.
Where are you finding good projectors, bulbs and balasts for $150? Just FXRs are more than that.

Unless you mean PNP kits, and then the words "good", "decent", etc shouldn't be used in the same sentence..

I suppose Subaru should also thank Toyota for buying 20% of their company and basically funding the project and setting engineering targets

Like you said they are the same car, so I don't understand why you needed to sling so much mud in the rest of your post.

We are in this together as FRS and BRZ owners/potential buyers. The car's success, regardless of badge, will inspire other auto makers to make rival cars, and fuel the aftermarket and factory development of the car.

What ever happened to Zaku? Maybe he poked his head in here (only on Page 2 so far) but haven't seen him in a long while.

My friend told me that when he bought his $200 China crap off eBay. He tore it out less than a month after installing it.

you get 4 more miles a gallon in a BRZ.... both cars are running stock TT's and way better hp/tq numbers need I say more? That and they are 16 year old cars....

I was following the BRZ from the start and yes I know a lot of what was said during that time period was speculation but Toyota and Subaru both stated they wanted a sports car between 17k-22k and for what your getting here on the premium it should be in that ball park. They've done a bang up job with exterior and somewhat with the interior but this car is really lacking in overall engine power. if it was 200hp at the wheels I'd be satisfied but I cant justify spending 28k on that.

look at cobb tuning dyno numbers for the BRZ

164hp 142tq at the wheels... really 25k for this?

I wonder how much the HID "replacement" kit for the BRZ will be going for on websites like rockauto.com

If you really can interchange the headlamp unit then getting bits for either car should be a breeze.

IMO, Once you go keyless you'll never want another car with a key...
